4-Pip Index, thoughts? (4 Viewers)

I've played in games with them. We all felt they weren't needed. Jumbo, yes. 4 color I personally like but no one else does, 4 pip, no thanks.

Correct.

Okay (but unnecessary) in your held hand, but totally distracting when face-up (board cards, stud hands).
In theory I don’t mind them. In practice, I’ve accidentally read the board as having, say, two aces because I see two As (especially across the table with a lot of cards on the board). So I stopped using them to avoid confusion.
This makes sense to me. I can see how these cards could make the board (or multiple boards - pending the game at hand) look like chaos.

So who exactly is the 4 pip for? Someone mentioned pit games like Blackjack, etc. I don't ever recall seeing them in any casinos.

I'm still curious to check 'em out.

I'm surprised by the overwhelming negativity. I don't love them, but I don't mind them.

I've never found them confusing on the board. To those that do, buy yourself a Barrington with the printed FLOP, TURN and RIVER boxes for easy card identification.

I’d 100% rather play on a factory barrington felt that play with 4-pip index cards. I’ve done both. The barrington wasn’t distracting in the least. Those godawful 4-pips on the other hand . . .

I suppose 4-pips would be okay for 5-card draw. But as soon as you start laying them side by side on the felt like in stud or as community cards, they’re terrible to look at.

I don't mind 4 pips. Rotated a few sets in my old game for years. Regular players didn't mind, but it was culture shock to new players. They said the same thing about it feeling too busy. And I do agree with another member that said 4 pip sets should be regular index instead of jumbo.

Definitely YES, both for hole cards AND board cards.
Especially for left-handers and even more for crippled left-handers.

I wish you guys would tell me how you *really feel*. ;)

Seriously, I appreciate the feedback. I am not a fan, but I came across some Piatnik 4-pips and wanted to see others' opinions.

I will stick to 2-pip indices and it is noted the love for the diamond, Victorian, circle designs. Thanks guys.

I actually like them, and here is why:

I'm a mysophobian, and when I eat or do things that require my left hand, I play with my right, and the way I look at my cards with my right hand doesn't show the pips, these do.

What I would really love, is a Jumbo index and a regular index on the 'extra' pips, but I'm not really human...

Love your cards, thank for asking us. Package came, cards look and feel great, always advise them.

I believe in them,
I think they should exist.
For those who like ‘em,
They’re awesome.
I do not.
But I’m not your only customer!!

I’m personally not pip-selective at all regarding playing cards, as long as they are quality plastics, poker-size, and jumbo index.

I would love to see some poker-size, jumbo-index, four color, like Copags, but with slightly more subdued colors. Like typical black and red pips with dark green and medium to dark blue pips. (And I do prefer the beige colorized center rectangle, for some reason.)

Some pip-pr0n below…
