3D Print Rack for Ultrasonic Cleaner with a 2 Liter Tank, Holds 4 Barrels (2 Viewers)

The 4 barrel rack printed and looks great. The 200chip rack suffered a clog around 75%. I'm printing more of both. I may tinker with adding straps and a handle to the 200 chip rack that printed to 75% to make it functional. It may be functional as is I'm not sure how strong the currents are in ultrasonic cleaners.

I honesty think the 75% variant would still work. It would just make handling a bit annoying.

I'm late to this, but would you be spinning the whole contraption? I thought the salad spinner or stirring was to limit the discoloration and ensure they are cleaned more thoroughly. I guess some of that is solved through this holding the chips apart.

I think it’s more to ensure water is hitting chips instead of chips stacking and having the internal faces sealed from the cavitation bubbles.

@ProperPokerPlayer , would it be possible to have straps available for the normal 200 chip version to hang the rack from the walls? By my estimate, the Vevor 6L is slightly too narrow on the bottom of the cleaning well to allow the rack to sit on its floor. I would need to support the rack up about 3cm for it to fit, or hang it down from the top 3 or 4cm, because the Vevor 6L well is tapered.

Not a big issue. Worst case, I can use string to hang the rack. Or use zip ties and hang it from sticks from above.

Good catch! To overcome this problem I designed these feet/standoffs (5 mm, 10 mm, 20 mm and 30 mm), which snap-in into any of the holes at the bottom and elevate the rack from the bottom of the tank. For the larger racks I would recommend using more than 4 feet (maybe 6?) to distribute the weight of the chips. @ProperPokerPlayer could you include a few of these whenever you send racks out?

Thanks for making these! if using the 200 chip rack in a Vevor 6L, the 30mm (3cm) legs will be best I think. That will put the rack closest to the middle of the tank.

There's a weird satisfaction grabbing a barrel and letting the chips fall into the slots.

I take the entire holder out and run water over it to rinse all the chips at once. Then pour the chips out onto a towel to dry.

Thanks a million for the file! I'm actually pretty comfortable with 3D modeling myself, but I've never actually done any printing before.
I sliced off the top layer and am printing only the halves for 40 chips.....................
15 hours later................................

But, to be honest, it is simply easier to buy them—it is significantly cheaper than the cost of the time, filament, and nerves wasted on the first layer.

How long are people throwing chips into the ultrasonic when using these chips racks? Is it the same length of time as when using the salad spinner method?

Can anybody post feedback from using these racks? Does it work as well as salad spinner?

I have the 4 barrel version and I’m more than happy with it. I added a couple of zip ties to make it easier to lift out of the ultrasonic cleaner. Pretty much set it and forget it as opposed to frequently rotating the salad spinner.
Shoutouts to @ProperPokerPlayer and @Dr_Dan11

How long are you leaving the chips in the ultrasonic bath?
