Today is Colleen and I's 30th Anniversary. We already celebrated with a trip to Mexico of which I'm sure you've already seen the thread. As @WedgeRock joking said to me, I was only hosting last night to be able to take my wife out tonight. I got lucky as a SOB last night and did very well. I think I was the big winner. @mike32 might have taken that honor. He was absolutely schooling us at the tables.

I don't know where we will go. The date is on my poker buddies. Thanks guys! She'll probably still want to go to a Bar and Grill (our kind of joints).

Anyways, I just wanted to share this crazy enormously, impressive feat that we have accomplished (probably a lot harder for her :) ).

Time to clean up and get presentable. I think I'm finally sober from last nights game (looking at @Perthmike )

I've probably shared it here before. How we ended up together probably isn't the recipe for a happy and successful 20 year marriage. Hell, it worked for us.

I was TDY in Panama in 88. I returned to my base at Grand Forks, ND where @suited67 is at. This is the only reason I actually know the day that we met. I got back to my base on SEP 30th in 88. I met her that day. I immediately thought she was awesome. At the same time I was nervous to ask her out. This was a new feeling for me. I usually didn't care. Ask a girl out, she would say no. I would move on. I didn't want Colleen to say "no", so I was hesitant to ask.

Finally, I got the courage sometime in the middle of NOV. I asked her out. She said yes. We hit the big two screen theater in Grand Forks and saw Die Hard lol

Things got pretty seriously, pretty quickly. I was only 20 years old. Shit, I had never felt like this before. I said fuck it and asked her to marry me. I was so worked up about it that I woke her up at 330 in the morning to ask her. I think this was in FEB. Yes, in just three months I decided I had met the one!!

We decided that we would play a summer wedding. She is from PA. I'm from MI. We talked about getting married in her home town. Well, a month later she says that she is pregnant. I said cool. Lets just get married right now. So we did lol.

We woke up the next morning and headed to the courthouse. 30 years later it was still the best run good of my life!

On our 20th Anniversary we did our first Mexico trip. That is when I came up with the Sunset theme for my customs.

Thanks for reading. I wanted to share my awesome experience

Bill,

This is so crazy! I got stationed at Grand Forks AFB in May 1991. Met my wife Liz in November 1991 3 months later we were married at the court house on Valentine's day! We hit 27 years this past Valentine's day and still going strong :)
Congrats on your 30th
My Best Jeff

Congrats Bill. looks like you 2 have a lot of fun. I think that's pretty much what it's all about anyway.

Here's to another 30 !

Congrats Bill! Here's to another 30. I'm halfway there. My wife and I celebrate our 15th in September.

A week from tomorrow Colleen and I celebrate 31 years. We were supposed to travel to Rochester NY. We were going to party with her sister and husband. Alas, we had to cancel.

We debated canceling our vacation time to save the hours. After a quick debate, we decided screw that. We both could use a break from our jobs (Hospital and Grocery Store).

First off, I think I'm going to dry out for a few days. I don't know the last day that I haven't had a drink. Zooming, and playing poker the last two nights has been a blast, but damn have I gone through the bourbon.

I think we will get take out at one of our favorite hangouts (probably a couple of times). Maybe hangout by the river that runs through town. We'll probably take some walks, play some games, and experiment with some more Old Fashioned drinks!!
