Working on a 3 day event that consists of Day 1A, Day 1B, and Day 2. Do the BBA make the structure to aggressive? I think I will get 30-50 players each day. Starting stack 30k
For Day 2, what pre-determined level would be a good starting spot?

At 30k starting stack... Approx ending BB is 45000 @ 30 players and 75000 @ 50 players.

A few questions:
1. How long do you want to play each day? Also do you want Day 1s to be shorter/longer than day 2?
2. You made a structure which would work for the whole tournament but only lasts for a single day. Was this intentional?
3. Generally the tournament ends when the total of blinds is 5%, not the BB (from what I understand). This would leave your final big blind to be 36-60K with a BBA or 60K-100K without one (for 60-100 total players). Would you rather have a BBA and end it a few levels sooner or skip it to add a bit more time?

Let me know. I built a general structure, and can change it a bit to fit it once I have your answers.

I set it up anyway based on your structure. Yours is good, but has some inconsistent jumps (between 14% and 60% after the first break). Mine keeps all jumps between 20% and 33% for a more consistent tournament (except for level 13 without using a BBA), while still ending at roughly the same time your structure allowed. It should end between levels 20 and 24 with a BBA, or 24 and 26 without one depending on the number of players. End at level 12 on day 1 to have roughly half the tournament on each day. 30 minute levels, I'd also increase the length of breaks since 10 minutes is short for 2 hours of play.

Day 1s:
100/200
100/300
200/400
200/500
Break
300/600
400/800
600/1200
800/1600
Break
1000/2000
1200/2400
1500/3000
2000/4000
End of Day 1 (Color Up 100s and 500s)

Day 2:
2000/5000
3000/6000
4000/8000
5000/10000
Break
6000/12000
8000/16000
10000/20000
12000/24000
Break (Color Up 1000s)
15000/30000
20000/40000 (EOT 60-66 players with BBA)
25000/50000 (EOT 67-83 players with BBA)
30000/60000 (EOT 84-100 players with BBA, 60 players no BBA)
Break
40000/80000 (EOT 61-80 players no BBA)
50000/100000 (EOT 81-100 players no BBA)
60000/120000
80000/160000

With 30 minute levels, extending breaks to 20 minutes, adding 30-60 minutes to the dinner break, each day will last 7.5-8 hours. If you play with a BBA, skip the break after 30K/60K and shorten levels beyond that to 15 minutes to make the game come to an end faster. Hope all of this helps!

For low stake multiflight events the norm these days is to play down to money or play down to % of field remaining. For this size of a field playing down to the money makes sense I think. Day 2 restart should be at whichever the earlier flight was.

BBA is good and I’d have it on the whole tournament from level 1.

Roger that. Thank you my friend!

1. For day 1 I would like them to end by at least 12am. I don't mind if Day 2 is longer.
2. I just created a starting point for Day 1. I didn't know if I should create an entire new structure for Day 2, resume where I left off, or start at a pre-determined level. I think now with the feedback I've gotten I will resume at the earliest level after an adjustment.
3. I think Ill go with BBA.

I'm making some changes based on your recommendations. I appreciate your feedback and help.

BBA from level 1? Breaktime 15 or 20 min?

Very cool idea, I applaud you for trying to get this up and running.
Definitely a hard NO to BB Ante's, it will speed up tourney too much and a multi day event you don't want sped up bc, well that kind of defeats the purpose.

I think the first thing you need to figure out is are you going to have a dinner break or not. Personally I'd do no dinner breaks to keep costs down and more money in the pot and just serve water, soda, coffee, pretzels, uncrustables, cookies, munchkins, other snacks that won't ruin the cards/chips.
- If no dinner break then I like the 12 levels and 15 minute breaks and be done with Day 1 which is 6 hours of play and 30 mins of breaks. Or play down to the final 9 players if it gets to that before 12 levels is up.
- If yes then you need to get pizza/hot dogs and add a 45 minute dinner break after level 8 and maybe play another 2-4 levels day 1 but add a level or two in between so that day 1 ends with blinds of 2000/4000 like @TheRealStephen12 suggested. With 40 players @30k each that is 1,200,000 chips in play so if you play down to 9 players the avg stacks will be 133k with day 2 starting at 2k/5k which is 26 BB avg.

I'd probably do 40 minute levels for Day 2 because I don't see this lasting past level 20k/40k or 25k/50k. With 2.4mil chips in play (80players) that leaves only 60 BB's on the table when Blinds are 20/40k and 48 BB's when blinds are 25k/50k so short stacks will need to shove and even if its heads up it should last long. (With BB Ante's in the mix this thing is probably over by level 12k/24k or 15/30k which is only levels 8 & 9 of Day 2)

Good Luck! Send Pics when this gets going!

The main reason I had the BBA in there is because I absolutely have to play down to at least 20 players from each Day1. I was worried that without them I would reach level 12 before eliminating half the field. Do you think if I remove them I will reach my target of 20 player by at least level 12? If I increase play time to 40 min and remove BBA would that help me reach my goal of having only 20 players at most by level 12?

In regards to a dinner break, I might add one on Day 2 before we play the final table. I think it might give people a chance to reset and prepare for the main event!

All of your feedback is appreciated and taken into consideration! It's extremely helpful!

Playing 12 levels should get you well below 20 players each flight. Even with a 20 minute break and 60 minute dinner break, day 1 will end by 10:40 and day 2 by midnight (even without an ante). As @GetUrShineBoxsaid, let us know how it goes and send pictures!

Hi, you don't need to increase the levels to 40mins on Day 1, only on Day 2 would I consider that.
If anything you can always play to level 13 or 14 on Day 1 if there are too many players left but if there are no rebuys allowed then I highly doubt that half the players will be left after 6 hours of play, its almost impossible.
