Just because they were marked as sold does not mean they sold for that. Plenty of sales are for less than listing via PM. For all you know they were traded for three dollars, two chickens, and a goat
If I list some Cleveland ones for $1000 and then mark them sold is that the new market price? The OP was talking about market value in his listing so discussion about how market value can be determined seem to be in order.
For a new member with no credentials to just jump in and immediately offer high dollar chips can be a red flag, anyone deal with this guy yet except to send him a few free chips?

im not saying the chips sold for $250 and I’m definitely not gonna question someone’s reputation without just cause. What I said was, it’s reasonable for him to list his chips at that point based on that assumption.Again, if you have a problem, address it via pm. I happen to know what these chips have been sold for in the past, but whether it’s over or under $250 is not relevant to what this guy expects for his chips. If I have any issues with it, I’ll address it with him privately. Maybe say, “hey man you know these chips are selling higher/lower than what you’re listing them. Just giving you a heads up.” Keep in mind there are PLENTY other chips in the classifieds that can be purchased cheaper in a different location. We aren’t going to every thread and saying “you know, these are cheaper if you look in x location.”

I used to make fun of @madforpancakes for all of the expensive chips and multiple sets he had. Seemed like a huge waste of money to me. (I also hasnt been in a position to host a game in 10 years) This past may I started hosting again, and promptly bought a dunes set off this forum with no intentions of spending more than that on chips.

Then a month later we went to a bachelor party in vegas and we shared a room. He told me how he planned to harvest a bunch of chips from Paris because he wanted a few racks and they were worth like $2.75 per chip. Well after we both lost like $400 at the craps table it was time to recoup our loses and work the harvest game! We came away with 700 Paris 1s between the 2 of us. I took 2 racks and sold them immedietaly with no problems.

But I apperently I came down with something when I was there. I now had this weird chipping illness, where I couldn't help but want to put together the perfect set for my game!

Needless to say, now have 2 full sets, with a couple racks in the mail heading my way for set #3. Just bought a 7/8" drill bit, and am planning on trying my hand at milling for the first time this weekend.

Thanks to those that have given some constructive feedback and also support! I had honestly just based the price just on what I saw. Been collecting for years, have had all my Jokers Wild chips for at least 5 and this is my first time selling them.

It seems I struck a chord, not intended. I saw that sale had posted as I was browsing around and getting to know the forum and thought..”hey, live fracs... I have a bunch of those!” And they had sold out. So I started this thread with the offer up front to have it taken down if needed.

It certainly was well intentioned! I’ll adjust the price and the post as is appropriate and thanks to everyone especially those that shared some cool frac threads to check out.

I’ll check tonight, though I also know there are different types of racks and I just bought generic amazon racks.

Let’s say that 21 would almost fit, but regardless of if they do or not, there aren’t many slicks but some have the hot stamp basically gone, and some big nicks and gouges in the side. I tried to make that pretty clear in the picture(the last picture)

A few updates! Two “normal” racks left, and the rough one. No more barrel sales please!

Regarding the rough rack, yes 21 can fit in a barrel. Some are a bit more slick so there is definitely wear. Again the worst 100 chips out of a bunch of racks I got. I was trying to get good ones but you can’t always be perfect or even good, I guess looking at some of these! Adjusted the price down to $100 shipped for the rack! Buck a chip shipped
