Cash Game $20 or $25 chip for Cash games? (1 Viewer)

$20s cause of $20 bills. $25 because thats what casinos do and it makes $100s easier.

We did $20 but only because in my microstakes game it was a miracle if we had one on the table and making it lower increased the chances; at .05/.10 thats a 50bb difference lol. We weren't worried about counting to $100. If you've got players that regularly play in casinos, they'll usually expect $25s.

I prefer these $20s in the cash set, especially for low-level limit games.

Nobody makes mistakes with these in play. Backed up by presidential hundo plaques.

I do $20s for low-level cash games and $25s for tournament. That way I can use the same set for both cash and tournament. Can't sneak a $25 in when you're not using them in the cash game.

Not that it's a worry with my group.

Neither. The $20 and $25 might only be used for re-buys.

Go with $10 chips. They are more versatile in re-buys and more likely to make it into a table bet in a low stakes game.

And you need more $10 chips than you would $20 or $25 chips. We all know the correct answer is always More Chips!

Now for my own vanity, I am searching to see if I had made posts in these threads.

I have settled on this answer, if the workhorse chip for the stake is the single (which I consider to be limit games 4/8 and under, or no limit games with a frac big blind) I prefer the 20. If the the workhorse chip is the five, I prefer to have twenty-fives in play. I ordered both for my presently used custom set.

To be fair the PCF search isn't always the best. I actually have better luck using google with the site: pokerchipforum.com specifier.
Absolute beauty of a tip. Ya the website search function is barely functional at best I've noticed.
