2/2 cash game chip ratios (1 Viewer)

I agree with the others that having both 50s and 100s is excessive. Go for one of them. Either of them will work just fine, imo. Maybe get slightly more 50s and less 10s if you go that route, compared to 100s and 10s. If you have enough €50s it shouldn't be a problem jumping up to €500 next. The €500 would be used mostly as a value storage, and likely would be used very rarely for making actual bets.

200x 2. (400)
300x 10. (3000)
200x 50 (10000)
20x 500 plaques (10000)
Seems good to me.

Don't think you need as many 10s when you pair them with 50s as when you pair them with 100s. (Especially if you aren't really looking for huge stacks)
I think thats what Ill do, big thanks for your opinion and everyone elses opinion.

I mean why useless. If I spend my last tens on a call and then call 20€ with a 100chip, i need to receive 8x10 chips.
With 50s only 3.

Isnt 50s instead 100s better if you got enough chips? Plus it gets you bigger stacks which many like.
You wouldnt need so many 2s, thats 64€ in 2s, and not so many 10s but instead 50s.

But ultimately much of this is probably preference.

The dealer or a player will make change for you.

I've been playing 2-4 or 5-5 blinds for several years and I was inspired by my 20s playing in Parisian clubs where they don't use the €50 chips.

Too many chips at the table take longer to count stacks and less hands played in the game.
It's a club technique to generate more rake.

I have 825 chips total :

200 x €2
100 x €5
300 x €10
200 x €100
25 x €1k

I play with this in 2-4 blinds: (525 chips)

100 x €2
200 x €10
200 x €100
25 x €1k

I play with this in 5-5 blinds: (525 chips)

100 x €5
200 x €10
200 x €100
25 x €1k

But I generally play with a maximum of 7 players at the table because we play dealer choice with 6 cards.

And the €500 is useless if you have 200 x €100...might as well have 1k is better.

I did mention that the 500 would be plaques mostly for the novelty factor, and if it was 1000€ plaque, it would be used too rarely, even for someone with 4k, hed mb have 1.

But ive already settled on marius_L idea, only 2/10/50, and 500€ plaque. Look at his ratio.
Ive decided on 50s instead 100s to inflate stack size a little more. Many just like having bit bigger stacks and counting is still easily fast enough with 50s even if you got 2k €.
I was a dealer for many years and I know how having too many denominations sucks big time.
So ill do marius l's idea and later get 100 more 2€ chips since dealer gets his tips in a cash box.

Nice pics but should this tell me smth?
Those are clay composite right? So you know if they are 10g or the heavy ones

Differences in currency between the Euro and Dollar probably have an influence on denominations and stakes. The $5 chip is common because of stakes and security. The most common poker games in the US are 1/3 and 2/5 NLHE, for which the $5 chip works very well. Limit games are much less common than they used to be, but that is where you will see the $2 chip here (or as a rake drop). Casino games also usually have a $5 min bet ($1 for side bets, like hop bets in craps). Having both a $5 and a $10 chip in the same poker game would be cumbersome. As stakes increase, chip stacks change. At 5/10 or 10/20, $10 replaces the $5 and the $25 is usually skipped to go straight to $100.

I would echo the sentiment others have said and skip the €50 chip, the €100 just makes more sense and both is cumbersome. Determine what the common bet sizes are/will be for your game and then lean heavy towards the chip that will be used for those bet sizes. It's very likely the €10. More €10s will give you more flexibility than having less to get some €50s. I would assume that you would only need 100-150 of the €2 chips. 750 will more than cover your bank needs.

150 x €2
400 x €10
200 x €100

Hello and welcome!

I'm a big fan of the €2/10/50 denoms as well and built my customs like this too:

I usually play in Aachen and some of the Holland Casinos which successfully run 2/2 and 2/4 games as well.

Your game sounds fun! Any chance you play in driving distance from Cologne? :)
2h 30min from cologne so not really.
What kind of chips are these?
What weight?
I have been to NL many times but never poker, how are the games there. Somehow i imagine dutch players are tighter but thats based on nothing really.

How good are the games in NL, whered you play?

That is quite a long way. Although I usually drive 1h 15 min to Casino Aachen so not that much of a stretch to make the tour at some point in the future. :)

These are paulson 9-10g Top Hat & Cane with their original inlays removed.
Here's the making of.

I haven't been to NL since COVID but there wasn't much of a difference to the Casino in Aachen. Usually two fish, 4-5 old man coffee and 2 crushers. ;)

When I was in NL I played in Valkenburg.

Can you even order these chips still. I barely found 10g clay at all.
Im buying ceramic chips, all rounds have them here.

No, you can't order Paulson chips from the manufacturer anymore. They exclusively sell to casinos now.
You can buy them on the secondary market from other collectors though.
Right here in this forum or on eBay for example.

You can still get compression molded clays (like Paulson) here:

http://www.pokerchipsonline.com/pokerchips/realclaypokerchips.htm

Fully customized even, but they’re starting at around $2/chip.

Most ceramic chips available in Europe are overpriced for what they are. Best ones available retail would be through brpropoker.com but they are US based. You can also search for ”cards mold” on this site for info on fully customizable ceramics from China. Well liked for their price point, and they will print literally anything you want.
