Anyone ever played 2/2 cash? I think I've played it in Germany with 2, 10, 100 chips on the table.

Anyone played it with 2, 5, 25, 100 chips?

Reason for asking is that the Lake Elsinore $1s seem to all have really bad inlay damage, so I'd rather not use them, and instead use these:

We usually play 1/2, but it's a pretty big 1/2 game, so stakewise it wouldn't matter. Just wondering if anyone has experience and if it would be awkward somehow with 2s and 5s on the table.

While I still had the LCO set I put the 2s in play (how could I not) for 1/2 or 2/4. I only had one rack though so I had to have the 1s in play too. Anyway, it’s a slightly weird denom but it worked fine.

Good to know. Im asuming it should work just fine as well. I was thinking 2/5 would work fine as well. With one rack or maybe even less of the 2s, since they are only for the small blind in that setup

Figured with 2 racks of 2s it should also be more than enough for running a 2/2 set up. Probably overkill to be honest.

2 10 100 are the denominations used for $2/2 game that I played in before

2 5 25 100 are really awkward for making changes and 1 5 25 100 actually work better in comparison for 2/2 game

what sort of breakdown would you guys recommend for a 2/2 or 2/4 game using $2?

Asking bcs I have 5 racks of another Cali $2 I have no idea what I’m going to do with.

These chips just scream "make me $25's like Dog intended".

Unless you have 1000 of them for a great limit game, I just don't know what else to do with them.

Might not be a problem, but you can’t make change with 2s, 5s and 25s. You’d have to swap like 2x5s for 5x2s. Might need more in play than you think..?

Good point. I'm more than happy to get 2 racks on the table though, which should probably keep this from becoming a real problem. But very valid point that I will keep in mind when I do try this!

Thanks for this feedback guys. Knew there was something I hadn't considered.

This is something I will consider after trying it in a game or two. If there are issues somehow, and that could make it easier. However if I do that, I might as well just play 5/5, which is also an option for sure.
Just keep in mind that 5/5 will be a significantly bigger game unless you have a very passive crowd - "standard" open goes from $5 to $15-20.

Requiring $5 to open in 2/2 simply forces players to open for a raise - no preflop limping. This could be a good or bad thing depending on your players.

Yeah you're right, theres a difference for sure. 5/5 standard open will be 15-20 like you say, while maybe a 2/2 (5 increments) will likely be opened to 10 i guess.

Progressionwise 2/10/50/200 seems workable on paper, but the only sets with those denoms I can think of are Paulson fantasy (Classic, CDM, FLV etc). Could you convince the group to play limit/circus games?

In other news, let me know if you need to dispose of those $1’s ;)

My set wont be usable for limit because of the number of chips. But I think I'll just give it a go with 2s, 5s, 25s, 100s.

And yeah, the $1s will need to go, but not just yet.

2/2 is just weird I think

2/5 plays super aggressive! Even with modest players your open will be 15+ regularly! That gets to be an expensive game. 500 buy in x8 $4k on table to start and you can rebuy to max chip leader so you can have 5k-8k real quick on tables. And normally this game plays like 5-10nl in casinos. Home games imo to large stakes unless your all deep pocket dudes lol

Keep it 1/2 nl add the $2s as an every 8 hands ante for a splash pot game once every round. This will create action on occasion.

@Marius L Are you trying to keep this as all LE chips? Otherwise, you could add a 50 cent frac and still keep the game $1/2 using two fracs for the small blind. That would also assist with making change. Not really sure if that would play well or not, but seems intriguing to me as I like trying weird stuff. LOL.

Main point is to keep it to all LE chips, so that makes little sense as well unfortunately.

Wanna get those beauties in play, but the nasty $1s are just not doing it for me with their ruined inlays, so I have to be a bit creative. Otherwise I would just use $1s, like I do with all my other sets which obviously work great.

I will try with $2 when I get them in hand.

If it doesnt work at all (which I dont think), I will look at the last alternative, which would be to relabel a chip for LE $1, but I'd rather keep it all original. The fact that the $2s has nice spots and the super juicy hex shaped inlay which I love, I'm really really hoping it will work!

I agree. Do whatever you have to to use those hot $2 chips!

I just don't like the idea of having both a $1 and a $2 on the table together. I'd rather use a few 50 cent fracs to help make the game work. You wouldn't need many since they'd mostly just be used for small blinds and change.

Come back an update us on how the $2/2 game works.

Certainly will do! But will be probably another month before they see play. All my $2s are still in the US, so need to have them shipped and then get a game going.

No game yet, but have all the chips I need to try this at last! Really like the $2 in this lineup (visually and condition and shaped inlay), so hope it will play OK. Using the original $1 is not an option (ugly ruined inlays and too worn), and I don't really want a relabled $1 in the mix.

These chips are so pretty!

After trading and overbuying I have gotten pretty much matching stack heights among all my keeper chips and denoms (only 100s being slightly taller)

The full set. I really can't get enough of looking at these.

Not that I'm experienced in various casino games or anything but if it's not currently a thing, nothing stopping you from making it a thing at your home games!?

Chips looks pretty sweet, I understand why you wouldn't want to use older, worn out $1 chips. Just tell your players stakes went up barely!
