Hi all,
Time for our second 'major.'
It's a 10 man tournament for a bracelet. We are looking at one rebuy. I have enough high denom chips to do rebuys so that we can make change at the table, so I'm looking to avoid sacrificing stacks in order to have pretty rebuy stacks. I'm using my cash game chips, they are listed below. What do we think would be the best break down for a starting stack? I have suggested my thoughts below:
What I have available
(essentially what I have in my avatar/profile pic)
25c - 80 chips
50c - 40 chips (useful for early blinds so would prefer to get them into play)
$1 - 200 chips
$5 - 100 chips
$25 -100 chips
$100 - 20 chips
(Also have $2 x 60 & $3 x 20, but already feels wierd having just 4 x 50c, but they are too useful not to use; it might be a bit daft having just a couple of chips here or there for random denoms, although I understand 5/6 $2 could be useful.)
My preferred starting stack (but not sure if it will play well)
25c - 8 chips ($2)
50c - 4chips ($2)
$1 - 11 chips ($11) ($15 dollars worth of low denoms total)
$5 - 7 chips ($25) ($50 dollars total)
$25 - 4 chips ($100) ($150 dollars total)
$100 - 2 chips ($200) ($250 dollars total)
I understand the jump between 25 and 100 isn't ideal, and that $250 total isn't ideal. But I want to get some of the $25 and $100's in play, as they are the nicest chips we have. Would the above set up work is starting with 50c / $1 blinds (250 BB, we quite like starting deep stacks.)
I my original thoughts was the same as above but with just 2 $25/s and 1 $100, for a clean $200. But I think that would struggle to break $100's. The main issue is I want to get as many the $25's and $100's in play, whilst still being able to break chips.
I also have 60 $2 chips which would obviously be useful, but they are similar in colour (albiet you can tell the difference quite clearly)
What do you guys think? It would be great to get as many 5's 25's 100's in play, but primarily the state of the game comes first. I'm quite savvy with organising the blinds to work for whatever set up, but want to ensure the jumps arn't too wild and we have the right amount starting for each chip.
Appreciate your help in advance.
