I've added a dialogue to Chipmatic that allows users to export their chips and sets to a data file, and then later upload them. This is handy for a few reason:
- If you want to move your chips to another browser, you can do so with these files
- If you want to share a set here on PCF so that other people can edit it, you can do so with these files
- If you need to clear your browser data, you can export your set(s) to files beforehand
- You can export a set and then re-upload it as a way of copying a set (eventually there will be a more straightforward way to do this)
- You can export a chip and then re-upload it to another set as a way of copying a chip between sets (eventually there will be a more straightforward way to do this)
- You could use exported sets to track your changes over time
You'll find a button to open the Import/Export dialogue at the bottom of the right side toolbar.
Please note that exporting a chip does
not export any uploaded inlay image. If you used an Inlay Template, then that
is exported. If you re-upload the chip within the same browser, your inlay image will be restored from the browser's local storage, but otherwise you'll need to upload the image again for each chip.
