My Cali Rounders add-on arrived today, along with some pretty epic customs for my upcoming 40th birthday poker party. Pretty stoked about these! :whistling:

Oh, and if you ever wondered what white on off-white would look like, here it is! I think they came out awesome with the black inlays!

Chip Face Discoloration?: Noticed discoloration on most of the faces of the $20s around the hotstamp. Is this common? Will cleaning or lightly oiling clean/clear it up?
View attachment 392704

Height?: Just sold a rack + of TRKs that fit snuggly into Paulson racks but these seem to fit 21 snuggly. Anyone know why this could be? There’s still a good amount of crosshatching on the faces of the chips and no other serious signs of excessive wear so I’m not sure why this would be the case.

Two yellows?: Two sets of yellow chips (different monograms) and the one on the left is less bright. Is this just grime from wear that will cleanup in the ultrasonic or are there color differences in different runs of TRKs (yellow TRKs I sold match the brighter yellows). Less noticeable in the photos but noticeable (though not bad) in person.

Looks like scraping from the hotstamp, I had a TRK like this and cleaned it with a magic eraser and the scrapes were still there

Also regarding the different stamps on the yellow it appears to be 2 entirely different stamps, one font appears thicker, maybe different year or batch?

@AK Chip - From your experience, could this be from the hotstamp flashing being too high, and then a hard scrape?

All TRK hotstamps have this problem. It's because of the concave faces which makes it so they had to scrape off what would otherwise be sloppy looking stamps if I recall correctly. Extremely common though.

20 TRKs never fit snugly in a Paulson barrel unless they are very warped. You likely gave sometime 105 chips unknowingly before  :ROFLMAO: . Most people use spacers with Paulson racks or get custom racks made. I store mine in the original TRK boxes though.

Different yellows are from different runs and/or differing exposure to sun over time. They only had one yellow though to my knowledge. Hotstamp also might be the same one, just used with different amounts of pressure on each chip.

Cool set though!

So I should ask you for more money for these amazing Paulson-height TRKs??? :D 15 spare of the ones I sold you on the leftones I just got on the right:

Two different monogrammed stamps and slight differences in the “$5”. Hopefully just wear that will clean up.

Also, maybe check the diameter? Are the new ones on the right wider? Maybe squished?

Looks like the nicer/sold ones might actually be a bit wider but it’s odd since @RainmanTrail pointed out that they start shorter from the start... what the heck type of TRKs did I just sell!?!?
I agree with @RainmanTrail even mint TRKs fit (21) per barrel in Paulson or Chipco Racks... I do 105 per rack but have definitely seen members using the spacer method... curious Tom what is the weight on the ones you sold? Were those monogram hot stamps?

Same weight and monogrammed hot stamps.

Chip face -- discoloration from scraping hot-stamps on TRK scrowns is not uncommon. Sometimes made less noticeable by oiling, but not always.

Chip size -- TRK scrown thickness varies quite a bit and they are often much thinner than other clay chips (so do ASM/CPC chips, but they are typically on the thicker side). Few (if any) were made to the 3.3mm standard used by Paulson....meaning all TRK chips will fit loose in even the smallest barrel size 66.7mm racks (unless the chips are really warped). In addition, scown chip diameter can vary, with chips sometimes smaller than 39mm.

Chip color -- chip color hues can vary by production date or era, and by specific material batch, and can also differ due to subsequent UV exposure and/or overly-harsh cleaning methods.

All three issues are not uncommon in the TRK world. Most aficionados either learn to live with it, or embrace the slilled craftmanship involved without expecting perfection from essentially a handmade manufacturing process.

Thanks for the info! One other question, have you (or anyone) seen these hot stamps before?
