How do the CPC crowns compare to the TRK's? (1 Viewer)

I believe it's the same mold, but the CPC's aren't leaded, plus other factors I imagine change it, how so?

I can’t remember the difference in sound because I don’t have the CPC scrown samples anymore. But the feel is completely different, something the video won’t pick up TRKs are noticeably heavier and addictive.

The lack of lead makes all the difference in the world. The CPCs are much lighter than most TRKs, and when you shuffle the CPCs, they have a plastic feel to them because of the light weight.

^^ Completely agree. Although that does not diminish the quality or even desirability of the product in it's own right, imo. It's certainly on par with other CPC offerings.

I agree. If you like cpc chips. Then you should also like these. If I didn't have two custom sets I would probably would have been working on something by now.

Couldn't agree more! I know several members, even myself included that like the scrown CPC mold, but if you're trying to get old school leaded TRK quality, buy old school TRKs! If you purchase these as a substitute and know what leaded TRKs feel like I think you would be disappointed... just my 2 cents! Again also well said @BGinGA!!

I might have asked before but... which TRK tournament set is somewhat easily available with 3 racks of 100's, and multiple racks of 500's and 1000's? And hopefully some 5000's too.

Basically almost none. And for those that do exist, very few quantities, and worth a small fortune.

King's Crown is probably your best bet. But high denominations (of any kind) are very scarce.

Seriously, though, there are only a couple TRK tourney sets out there, and they are closely guarded. RedRooms are the first that come to mind (and the greatest), but also Kings Crown, Suicide Kings and maybe Rounders?

This is mine, and no $5000s.

Short answer, they don't compare.

Longer answer,

The CPC scrown have more in common with the home line hot stamped monogrammed TRK solids IMO. They have a similar weight and feel with the edge going to the originals. The leaded, heavyweight TRK casino chips are leagues above both of the previously mentioned chips, usually with a price tag to match. Be aware though, not every casino TRK chip is heavyweight as some base colors tend to be lighter or heavier than others.

Have to say that the scrown is one of my favorite molds as far as looks are concerned. Every time I use the chip designer my mock ups look best on that mold.

I chose scrown for my set currently in the works at CPC. Of all their current molds I like nothing better. If only they'd figure out a way to allow them to be hotstamped.

you need to get a blank barrel to @AK Chip to let him test his hot stamp machine on them.
