Just me or (1 Viewer)

does anyone else panic when you send thousands of dollars to someone across the continent with some funky PCF moniker through PayPal and then you get the message "You've sent $ to [a name you totally did not expect]."
Yes, though subtract a 0 for my transactions.

Sometimes the names are just similar that it's thought provoking, or it's completely different/random. I've heard stories of PayPal limiting accounts once it exceeds X number of transactions, so sending the money to their friend or partner can make sense a lot of times too.

That’s why when I’m selling I always write to the buyer “please send $xxx via PayPal to MY FULL NAME at MY EMAIL ADDRESS” So there’s no confusion, because my real name is a little bit different than my screen name. I know there’s lots of folks here who screen names are nothing like their actual names, those folks especially should, and typically do, give their real names in the course of a transaction.

Lol.

More than once as a seller, I've gotten an address, but no name. I just send it to the screen name... Gotta get a little creative with the USPS printed labels.

I started using a www.paypal.me shortcut with my PCF username. That way I don't fat finger my own email address!

I should probably start doing this too. I had never thought about the fact that a paypal confirmation could freak out a buyer -- especially when the seller name might not be what the buyer expected! Noted.

I’m sure you get that a lot.

I’ve paid a few times and been confused because the PayPal is in their wife’s name. I panicked and thought that I had entered something wrong.

This! Lol, I did freak out the first ten times until I realized that half of people’s PP accounts were in the wife’s name.

I usually spot typos just after clicking send, so I always copy-and-paste the seller's PP info or the buyer's shipping info.
