Considering buying a Bud Jones set, been playing cards at my local casino that uses BJ’s for years. I like the feel of them, unlike most. Worth buying, Will they hold their value?

I think BJs (the chips) are an outcast to a lot on here, but I love them. Some of my favorite chips are BJs. Go for it.

Most of the love on the forums is focused mainly on TRK and Paulsons. Bud Jones are pretty awesome too, especially the pacifc stars. It’s all a matter of taste.

Not all Bud Jones chips are alike.

I'm not a fan of the aesthetics of the V7 line, but many are. I've found the V6s have the Bus Jones suction issue more than other lines. I didn't notice it at Mystic Lake when they used V6s, so it may eventually break in. But the Parker's I played with had it pretty bad.

My favorite Bud Jones like is the S2 line. The only drawback is that they only come in 39mm.

Bud Jones CIC are the best
Stop it. Better than these?

Bud Jones are casino quality chips so yes, they're worth it. The main issue is that compared to clays there is a smaller market for them so while you'll likely be able to move them on, there are fewer people who would want them so sales may take longer.

I prefer Bud Jones in the casino for their ability to resist "Hooker Juice". In the home setting, it's not nearly as necessary, unless your players are absolutely disgusting.

I would not invest in chips though. Mostly because I buy and buy and never sell, so the return on investment is zero.

I like how you took the trouble to clarify that you are talking about BJs 'the chips'. Judging by the frequency with which comments here are pounced upon by members to feed the 'Out of Context' thread, one has to assume that people at PCF are getting plenty of poker but very little of sex :D

What version is the pacific star

Way better. Way, way better, IMO.

(I say that, and I own a set of those SEs, too.) :cool
Those CIC chips are like those pucks with the silver ball in the middle from table top hockey games of the 60's and 70's

Who doesn't like BJ's?
:)

Makes sense.

I’ll keep my eyes open for a set!! Thanks for all the feedback!

Pretty sure that’s what Canterbury uses (S2’s). I like the look of those best.

what does harvest mean? I’m new in here but at Canterbury fairly often and find a ton of chips in my pockets from time to time - is that what you mean?
Yup, buying chips from the cage and taking the ones in the best condition to add to your personal collection.

I was looking for someone to pick up 1-2 racks of these chips:

I planned to relabel them as fracs. No one took me upon it and I went a different direction.

As for how it would work, we would agree on a price (face value + something for your effort) and you would harvest chips. Once you had the agreed quantity, you would ship them to me.

Maybe someone else would be interested in your chip harvesting services... Someone who would like to relabel these into Big Easy fracs, perhaps.

They not avaliable to private customers, not custom so I think YES.
