Has anyone designed or attempted to design/order some high denom chips for this set, using CPC’s new scrown mold? I am curious what designs you guys might have done and or suggest. It would be great to add $500s and $1Ks to this set:

Have not attempted but sounds like a great idea. I have handled the CPC scrown molds, there would be a noticeable difference in feel.

I am pretty ignorant about TRK in general. I have only handled a few Mapes singles. I am curious what people think the differences are in weight/feel/appearance between the currently available scrown chips from CPC and the original old school TRKs. Obviously, words are no substitute for handling actual chips but I am still interested to hear feedback from those with firsthand knowledge.

Most noticeable difference will be the weight.
The TRK chips have a very hard and solid feel to them.
If you ever handle New China Club $1s, you’ll really notice the difference. (They being one of the heaviest TRK chips)
If you can get a barrel of CPC sample scrowns and a barrel of Pic Hobsons $5s, hold one in each hand, there’s no guessing as to which barrel is the TRK.
The hand holding the “brick” is the TRKs.
@Seeking Alpha Social Club and @detroitdad could probably ad much more to this.
Both of them have handled the CPC scrowns as well.

IMHO, TRKs and CPCs are apples and oranges....very different. Size is different, but the big show stopper for me is the weight (see pics below). 1 gram per chip might seem insignificant, but it is huge IMO.

As far as how they feel. The CPCs felt like plastic chips to me., which I believe is due to their lighter weight.

With all that said, you have to be careful mixing and matching TRKs as well. For example, a barrel of Pic Hobsons stacks 1 chip shorter than most other TRKs I have. So when you grab a couple of barrels of those beautiful $5s for your mixed TRK set, don't be surprised when they don't stack evenly (bottom pic).
