Here is the set with more denominations and better spot progression.

Definitely in! (And responded to survey)

Edit: Would skip the .25s and 25s and get some of everything else. Would be interested in 2s and (to a lesser degree) 200s.

Very nice! I like the 2000 better in orange but I'm in for a set regardless. Is there a link to a survey to show interest?

Thanks for showing the labels with colored backgrounds and black numbering. I think the black and grey background with black background still looks best and that would make it easier to mix and match labels with blank chips.

I really like the looks of these. Looks like the colored labels are back? Would likely pass on the 0.25, 25, and 1000's but these are exactly what I've been looking for years. Would upgrade my 300 order to 500 just to never have to worry about finding chips again.

It appears so. I like them. Looks like the denominations were switched to solid black, regardless of chip color, from a color-matched outline. Though I don't care one way or the other, I am curious about the color switch between the $2000 and the new $0.25.

Most likely the labels will all be one color. Also, thinking about removing the crown mold and adding a small train.

Love them! I'm in. Glad to see the color matched inlays. (Wow, posted this immediately after the reply without the color-matched inlays...I'll let the comment stand, the color-matched inlays look way better in my opinion).

Monochome labels are the smart direction, as it allows custom mix/match of different colors and denominations, thus acommodating a larger group of potential buyers.

Those that prefer color-matched can always go the custom label route.

Depends on how much larger an audience, right? Custom labels means extra cost and/or effort (which of course I personally would want to avoid, probably to the point of going with whatever the default labels are unless they are all-mauve or something). But yeah, probably does make more sense to embiggen the target audience.

Why? Apache already has plenty of other blank sets to accommodate that desire. Color-matching is more aesthetically pleasing, and board gamers generally don’t care about adherence to poker color conventions, especially on denominated chips. Those that do presumably would have already purchased a custom set to achieve their desired color scheme, or gone non-denominated since they have a specific color-value pairing in mind.

Which you can already do with several other sets apache already sells. Why does this set need to do that too? Color-matched labels would be a unique selling proposition. If you aren't going to make this set unique, why bother? Just add a $20 and $2000 denomination to the Majestics and be done with it.

I've decided that I agree with BGBird and hank67, the orange $2000 is better.

This is a poker chip forum and these are unique offerings for China clay poker chips - hence the bother. It simply wouldn't do to just add them to the Majestics as they are a single spot pattern and would look odd.

What timeline are we looking at for these chips?

I have zero prior experience with poker chips, so I really have no idea how long something like this usually takes.

And those sets are set up like that for good reason -- they allow maximum flexibility in set configuration, which equals greater appeal to a wider audience, and ultimately more sales.

Personally, I agree with you -- I think the color-matched labels with common black/charcoal/grey denomination looks best of all designs pictured so far. But color-matching isn't the best business decision..... and if it doesn't make good business sense, the chips are less likely to get made at all.

I would buy the color-matched label chips. I would have to think about the all blacks.
I hear ya.... I'm considering a set, and no question that the color-matched labels look nicer imo. But there are a couple of chips I'd probably like to swap out, which only works if all labels were identical (or I get custom labels made for those denoms if color-matched). It's a trade-off either way for me.

As someone new to this, is label swapping a manual process (remove and stick on new labels yourself)? Do custom labels stick less well, protrude more, etc.?

The question, then, is whether that's so. If you already have 3 or 4 sets that you can switch to non-denom + custom stickers, what's the likelihood that another one will improve sales at the margin, rather than cannibalize sales from existing sets? I'm sure Apache has the numbers for that, we just don't know what they are.

At that point you are now making train game chips. All the meeple lovers will feel left out. If you were to customize the mold, it should have a train, merchant ship, meeple, die, coin, pyramid, zombie, and Catan city. Or something like that.
