This is a chance to get a playable Dunes cash set in one deal. All chips are casino used, no charge for the extra hookerjuice. Spinetti's has plenty of 5s and 25s if you need more and this is playable for 5 guys right now. It is a rare event when a rack of Dunes 1s comes up for sale. Singles are found at chipshows and ebay from 10-25 bucks. I've priced the opening bid at 1200 for the rack of ones and 2 bucks a chip for the 5s/25s. Racks not included. Come and get 'em. All you can eat baby.
  1. STARTING BID: $1700
  2. Bids must be placed using numbers (no images), in whole dollars, and in minimum increments of $10
  3. NO RESERVE. The Starting Bid of this auction will be treated as the Reserve Price.
  4. All bids are to be placed openly in this thread. No bids via PM/Conversation.
  5. No bid edits or bid retractions permitted. (note: ALL edits are logged instantly)
  6. Auction will use the '5 minutes after last closing bid rule'. Highest bid at 9pm Denver Time July 1 will win unless there is a bid within 5 minutes of closing time - then the closing time will be within 5 minutes after the latest bid was posted. A bid at the close time is NOT a valid bid. Since seconds are not displayed on post timestamps, these examples will be used as a reference.
  7. I reserve the right to: 1) cancel the auction if no bids have been made; 2) edit the listing to correct errors or clarify rules as needed.
  8. PCF (its Owner, Admins, and Moderators) are in no way responsible for any actions in this auction.
  9. Shipping Terms: $14 CONUS ONLY Sig Confirmed
  10. Payment Terms: Paypal Friends & Family Only

Wow never had anything like that with claim stakes, lakeshores, or Tropicana’s. Were Fitzgerald’s hotstamps beat up already?

No. It was a really good condition stamp. Chip was a little dirty. Edge was very dirty. Was hoping I could forgo the magic eraser. Just did 1 as a test at the end of a cleaning session. I had it in the salad spinner with about 10 chips. Very slow rotation. Maybe it was the real tsp? Maybe 40C was too warm? Maybe it was the spinner? Maybe Fitzs stamps are thin? Stamp is still there but noticeably much duller. .....That is why we test first.

Test first for sure. I had issues with my Argosy hot stamp set, but no issues with Crystal Palace stamps. Although those were after the Argosy and were only in the TSP/ultrasonic for about a minute. Grand Casino Gulfport stamps had no issue either. I would always test first as it seems some stamps react differently. At least that's been my experience. Could just be the amount of wear, etc. on the stamp as well.

Ahh yeah I was using Lundmark which advertises at TSP but is actually Sodium Meta-Silicate so maybe that's it?

I put 1 of my Fitzgerald quarters in for 1min as a test and my stamp was seriously degraded. Real tsp. 40C. 1min.
Sorry you ruined your Fitz hot stamps. I cleaned 3 racks of Fitz metallic gold hot stamps with no damage at all.

Not saying it can’t be improved, but all the things I wrote in the ultrasonic cleaning topic, I wrote for a reason. The type of u/s cleaner, the distilled water, the temperatures, the times, AND the Lundmark fake TSP (really sodium metasilicate).

If you’d stayed away from real trisodium phosphate, your hot stamps would have been fine.

I suspect the ultra sonic cleaning action does more to remove the hotstamp than the sodium metasilicate chemical in “tsp”. I am not a chemist, though. Perhaps this calls for an experiment?
Feel free to run the experiment but I can tell you from experience that the Lundmark fake TSP is more important to the cleaning than the ultrasonic action. That said, the ultrasonic action is still quite important to reduce cleaning time, and exposure to the fake TSP.

It was just 1 chip.

And to some other members’ points... Yes, if you run the temperatures too hot and the times too long, you’ll eventually damage the hot stamp. It took me about 7 minutes to visibly damage hit stamps running at recommended temps.

dj would these be your first set of Dunes, or are you going for the $1s as an add-on? I’m the latter.

I concede. I REALLY want to add the $1s to my set, but if these would be your first Dunes, I’d like to see you get them. Awesome favorite chips ever!
