This is an AUCTION for (733) Big Top Poker cash set chips.

302 x $1
302 x $5
102 x $25
22 x $100
5 x $500

Very sad to sell these chips as I invested what remains of my heart and soul in their design, but life changes have forced a decision. Chips have seen the felt half a dozen times and are in near-mint condition (see close-up shots). I've included some extras. There are very few of these sets in existence, and this is a nice breakdown for a variety of games.
  1. STARTING BID: $2000.
  2. Bids must be placed using numbers (no images) in minimum increments of $5.
  3. NO RESERVE. The Starting Bid of this auction will be treated as the Reserve Price.
  4. All bids are to be placed openly in this thread. No bids via PM/Conversation.
  5. Auction will use the '5 minutes after last closing bid rule'. Highest bid at 8:00pm, EDT, Sunday April 14, 2019 will win unless there is a bid within 5 minutes of closing time - then the closing time will be within 5 minutes after the latest bid was posted. A bid at the close time is NOT a valid bid. Since seconds are not displayed on post timestamps, the following examples will be used as a reference.

Example #1: If the close time is 3:00pm, any bid at 2:56pm up to and including 2:59pm is valid and extends the auction for another 5 minutes.
Example #2: If the close time is 3:00pm, a bid at 2:55pm does not extend the auction.
Example #3: If a bid is placed at 2:56pm, the auction now closes at 3:01pm. A bid at 3:01pm is not a valid bid.
Example #4: If the close time is 3:05pm, and a bid is placed at 3:04pm, the auction now closes at 3:09pm.

  6. Edited posts will be voided. (note: ALL edits are logged instantly even if done within the small time frame before the 'last edited' message is shown)
  7. I reserve the right to: 1) cancel the auction if no bids have been made; 2) edit the listing to correct errors or clarify rules as needed.
  8. PCF (it's Owner, Admins, and Moderators) are in no way responsible for any actions in this auction.
  9. Shipping Terms: buyer to pay $20.00 shipping charge for USPS First Class Priority Large Flat Rate Box.
  10. Payment Terms: Payment to be made via Paypal Friends and Family, or buyer must pay all applicable Paypal fees. International PCF members must agree to pay any additional actual shipping & Paypal fees.

I am not really bidding on these chips...but for the sake of getting this thread back on track ....

$4800

OK FINE! That's a real bid...or is it a bet? :p:p:p
Yes, seems to be a real bid.... But for us people that have had to recently have purchased cheaters... I still hate putting them on, Please make numbers larger!!! Lol

Repeatedly and with enthusiasm. She's not gonna be happy with me. I haven't told her these are leaving.

BTW, many thanks for making our inlay dreams come true and all the combo design help. Awesome work.

Sorry you're having to let these go, Chris. It must be heartbreaking. :( You poured a lot of time and love into the cash set, and I think it shines through. :)

It was an honor performing at the circus with you. Truly, an absolute blast!

BTW ur doing it all wrong - ur supposed to run away from home to join the circus. Not the other way round!!!

I know what kind of person I am.
And I know what kind of person you are, too -- your promise to buy means shit. Bid retractions are not allowed. Flower it up all you want, it basically comes down to the fact that you're a liar and cannot be trusted to back up your words with action.

Well we definitely know what kind of person you are... LOLOLOLOLOL
Have A nice Day!!!!!!!!!!!

I had an auction with one bid in September of last year, and the bidder retracted the bid. I didn't think it was allowed, and yet when I posted about how that shouldn't be allowed @WedgeRock made it clear that it was fine. Under no circumstances should bids be allowed to be retracted imo, but apparently it's ok in certain auctions and not others.

Just read the post you linked. It appears @WedgeRock was expressing his opinion, which I suspect is not the viewpoint the majority of us have in regards to withdrawing bids on an auction.

Personally, I don't think it is ever ok to retract a bid. I'm asssuming not many people saw your auction, or else there would have been an uproar in your thread as weel.

I'm unsure what the site policy is on bid retraction in auctions, but it's definitely not mentioned in the auction guidelines. Thankfully this appears to be a non-issue at this point for this auction.

Just to be clear for future posts in this auction: bids are binding. If you don't want to pay for the chips the best option is don't bid.

I have zero authority to enact such a rule. A bright line rule is probably better for enforcement, but it's not my circus, not my monkeys.

Correct.

Good luck with this sale. Great looking chips. Just to throw in my experience- I had an auction where the only bid was lower than expected - the person who won - actually offered to let me keep the chips and do another auction. That was very nice of them - but I said - no you won fair and square — and sent them off to him. Just saying most of the folks I have sold/bought/traded with seem to be pretty stand up people.

I am still considering bidding more on these beautiful chips! I really think these are the real deal. Looks like some heavy hitters are in on this one, but I am not skurred! Very exciting.

These chips are sexy as all hell!

Yet, since, this forum has touched on the fairness of auctions and perhaps has elicited new rules recently sent out, I would advise the PCF community to look at this shit show of an auction (https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/horseshoe-cle-primary-1ks-ends-11pm-cdt.39123/). The rules were unequivocally violated, but the same forum heroes who ridiculed at @Aplusent on this auction thread were silent. It seems like the forum heroes only complain when it is conducive to their own personal agenda (e.g. to attack a particular member). Just wanted to point out the hypocrisy of members like @BGinGA .

One person accused you of scamming him on E-Bay. What's that about?
