You may never see a set like this come up for auction again. I have received many offers over the years but never budged until now. Full set with a great breakdown and shaped inlays.

I am somewhat conflicted about selling, but chips prices are high and they haven't seen felt in years. For this reason, I set the starting bid at $4k. If they don't sell, I won't lose any sleep.

1200 chips:
100 x Blue NCV hotstamps
400 x $1
450 x $5
200 x $25
50 x $100

Extras include a single $500 and $5000 chip and two dice.
Chips are in generally very good casino used condition except $5s which are quite used. Some are "bicycle tire" used and they stack a bit shorter than the other denominations. Pictures reflect the actual condition. The $500 and $5000 show minor water damage. The $1s are extremely nice and I was told when I bought them years ago that they were hand-picked as the best of the $1s available.

  1. STARTING BID: [ $4,000 ]
  2. Bids must be placed using numbers (no images) in minimum increments of $ [ $10 ]
  3. NO RESERVE. The Starting Bid of this auction will be treated as the Reserve Price.
  4. All bids are to be placed openly in this thread. No bids via PM/Conversation.
  5. Auction will use the '5 minutes after last closing bid rule'. Highest bid at [ Sunday, March 24 10pm CDT ] will win unless there is a bid within 5 minutes of closing time - then the closing time will be within 5 minutes after the latest bid was posted. A bid at the close time is NOT a valid bid. Since seconds are not displayed on post timestamps, the following examples will be used as a reference.

Example #1: If the close time is 3:00pm, any bid at 2:56pm up to and including 2:59pm is valid and extends the auction for another 5 minutes.
Example #2: If the close time is 3:00pm, a bid at 2:55pm does not extend the auction.
Example #3: If a bid is placed at 2:56pm, the auction now closes at 3:01pm. A bid at 3:01pm is not a valid bid.
Example #4: If the close time is 3:05pm, and a bid is placed at 3:04pm, the auction now closes at 3:09pm.

  6. Edited posts will be voided. (note: ALL edits are logged instantly even if done within the small time frame before the 'last edited' message is shown)
  7. I reserve the right to: 1) cancel the auction if no bids have been made; 2) edit the listing to correct errors or clarify rules as needed.

Did you do the inlay removal or Gear? Do shapes come off the same as round?

These particular ones I actually bought from Gear after he removed the inlays, so all I had to do in this case was apply the new label. But I’ve removed other shaped inlays, and it’s more or less the same as removing a round one (albeit slightly more of a PITA).

This is what I was wondering, if the hotstamp made a difference, or if you had to pick at little remnants in the corner of a cog

I can’t speak specifically about these chips since I didn’t personally remove the inlays, but I would assume that best case hotstamps wouldn’t make things worse, but they could potentially makes things more difficult in a couple respects. Same with removing bits of inlay from tight spots in the cogs vs the smooth round edge of a circle.

Yeah I was just about to say, read the description before bidding.
Ya I read it too, eBay does limit sellers on $$$ listing. New sellers are limited to only a couple hundred. The more you sell each month they evaluation happens and they can raise it. I see if you are a buyer that looks wrong but I assure that's real. I've worked mine up from $1k to $115k.

If so seller should take down the listing and list each rack seperately. He doesn't even edit the description at the top, just adds a disclaimer at the very bottom of the page. It's certainly very misleading at best.

Talked to this guy a few days ago. He said he is THE source of all the GC chips way back when.

So some of the original buyers here may know who he is.

He has no more tourney chips (which is why I contacted him). And the cash chips, ncv chips look pretty dirty. The pics of the 5s he sent me were really stained black.

The tourney GCs I have with similar black stains don't come off. Tried oxy, also ultrasonic. I'm thinking it was oil.

Not everything had stains though.
Make sure to get many pics of the rack being sold if you're interested.
