PCF meetup tourney where you buy in with a set of chips (1 Viewer)

That would be neat but you’ll have to have some sort of baseline where you say “only a set of chips worth X or between X and Y”. That way it’s relatively even :)

A firearms forum I am a member of periodically would have poker tournaments where everybody would bring a box of range ammo as a bounty. That worked well. For poker chips you would want every body doing the same thing. ie a rack of starbursts or a rack of live casino ones. Something like that.

Horrible, horrible idea. Clearly none of you have ever tried to design a custom set by committee. :banghead:
I thought about that too. Keep it simple and meet up host gets the final say.

Or, a portion of the buy in goes towards the cost of the set designed by the host.

One way or another it could work out.

I like your positive attitude. I would buy in to this idea if someone was to run with it.

I'll watch from the sidelines and be the first to say I told you so when the design phase explodes. :D

This is a cool idea.

If starting with 12-12-5-6-2-2-1($25, $100, $500, $1000, $5000 rebuy, $5000 add-on, souvenir chip) you are looking at 40 chips per person.

Even at $2-$3 a chip, this is an affordable buy in for a cool prize. For every 25 people that play, you could give away 1000 chip set.
Just keep it simple with a classic or simple inlay or even a hotstamp with some edge spots???

Seems like it would be a lot easier to play for money.

Me, too -- all the chips on the table, winner take all.

Lets Just play heads up for our Dunes sets.

210 x 1s
400 x 5s
240 x 25s
240 x 100s
180 x 500s
100 x 1000s 43mm
80 x 5000s
1 x 25k
Talk about some stacks of High Society!!!

I work with a group that has done this every year for the last 20 years. And it takes about 6 months.
