Breaking out the 12 year old cards

Last night was my annual Santa Claus cash game. We played the usual .25/.50, but any player who won a hand or went to showdown with a red king in the hole got to choose a present.

The gifts are mostly lottery tickets, gift cards, and add-ons to your stack, plus a few "zonks":

Everyone had a blast, and we even had a couple of new players. I thoroughly enjoyed the evening, though poker-wise I was ridiculously card dead and basically folded my way to a breakeven session.

I consoled myself with cookies and bourbon. (y)

So last night was a wild night filled with jägerbombs and fireball shots. Then I paused the clock to go to the bathroom and when I came out they had bet $2 and spread the deck on the table and each player would pick 5 random cards. Whoever have the best hand would win the pot.

This led to side bets on every single hand when we continued normal play. Bets on having certain cards on the flop or the board (or those cards not appearing at all) , certain amount of suits. Probably the most fun I've had playing poker

First time with the kids Christmas 8vs. Playing a little 4 handed .05/.10 cash game. Everybody was in for $5, to start with, I ended up out for $27.

Love the inlays. Also dig the faded spades.
Thanks!

We looked at tons of chips just so I could get ideas, and without tipping him off to him getting a set for Christmas. Out of almost all of the chips that we seen, customs, local casinos, whatever...his favorite design was the Majestics. Black, simple, denim is visible, and not too much going on. He said, “the label gets it done, but it lets the colors of the chip do the work”... he’s 14...and too wise.

So it was loosely based off of the Majestics. The line across it is actually a barbell. He’s huge into CrossFit and Olympic weightlifting.
His initials are on the cards, KFJ, and the suits on the cards are in the shape that the 5 of hearts would be, which is his favorite card, and has some family sentiment.
Also, the ‘Jackson’s’ first is is actually the number 5. That’s his baseball number, and the male of the family’s baseball, football, etc number passed from my grandfather, down and down, and now my kid wears 5. So it reads ‘Jack5on’s’.

The tourney set is the exact opposite. Silver label with black writing.

the quarters disappointed me when I had the set. The 1s, 5s and 20s are epic though.

I think the 25's are pretty damn sweet also.

I wish there was more pop in the inlay. The colors and edge spots are fantastic throughout the entire cash set (minus the colors on the fracs)

I’ve not seen the 25s in person, but I’ve got a barrel on the way. For a green chip I love it, but I’m just a sucker for yellow chips in general, especially when they have purple edge spots.

I do like the inlay, but it’s not the most exciting. I think the best option would be to pick the best chips from each boat and do a full custom inlay replacement.
