hey all, does anyone who received these own calipers to measure a few barrels of these? i’ve got a line on a birdcage with 70mm racks free shipping in canada. i’ve ordered 10 racks from gene but if these will work, i’ll cancel and let one of you US chippers take that order (haven’t been invoiced yet and i’m assuming there’s more demand than supply for the racks)
* i’ve read that they are 70.65mm. i’ve also read on ct and here somewhere that 70mm works

Going to do a separate cash and tourney set with these using some non-standard colors. I might go with really simple, non-themed labels from Gear.

I measured a few chips and the thinnest was 3.45mm. Most were 3.5 and slightly larger. I think the rack needs to be slightly larger than 70mm - maybe 71mm.

not sure how far back it was, but someone was asking how fragile they were and people came to the conclusion they are indestructible.

They break exactly as easily as any other China clay. Two thumbs and a push.

Ummm that’s not exactly true. Pinks are the weakest. @saleen121212 can tell ya. I haven’t had one break out of my 3500. So mileage my vary.

before i learned to buy extras, i super glued a couple of my pharoahs that broke clean like that. you have to really look for them to find them lol

Full transparency - I have now received 2100 of these chips. A few brown and purple broke in transit because they got loose and the box looked like someone used it to play soccer. A few pinks broke in transit as well. I also received a stack of Grey chips in a zip lock that were chipped and broke easily but Gene was able to fix that and explained that whoever he had doing the shipping sent me some of the loose chips from their pallet when they shouldn't have as they had already seen abuse.

For science and my piece of mind I intentionally tried to break every single chip I received. Yes all 2100. My knuckle is bleeding and bruised, I broke my thumb nail right in the middle somehow and here is what I found out. The pink are definitely the only brittle chips I received and specifically the faded pink, not sure why but if they were faded they snapped pretty easy. I was unable to break any other color with the same pressure applied to the pinks and under normal game conditions I don't see any snapping issues. Flaking and crumbling will only be determined by time.

I almost wonder if the pinks were stored in sun light? It seems the top and bottom chips were fadded the most.

Summary - for a 10c chip they are solid, my snap ratio was around 3 percent out of 2100, take out the faded pinks and that ratio falls to less than 1 percent all from shipping. Gene is great to work with, buy in confidence knowing the price is insane and if any break he will most likely take care of you.

None of my 8Vs broke when I tested them. I did test the old PGI solids, though... lost one blue from the clearance lot with pressure cracks & about 15 of the "new" whites I got a year after that sale. I'll hold back on posting pr0n of what the solids have become (tournament companion set to the Cattery BJ/cash set I'm using the 8vs for) until the whole thing is ready to go.

put in an order for 300+ green and got in line for the racks. at 1300 chips, I'm calling this set done. I will never, ever use all of these, but if for some reason I ever find myself hosting a 40 player T5k I know I am covered. Fun week! Now back to the degenerates table and pocketing hot THCs from the casinos

these are much, much better than any currently produced "China clays". I had no idea the quality difference that PGI ensured that these be when I committed to them. These are an entirely different chip than any China clay I'm used to. They're *actually* clay!

They DO seem much more claylike than my old Milanos. Sound a lot better too.

I’m passionate about these chips due to the fact that I find them to be the best CC overall. I thought they felt better than Majestics or Milano’s a d they are vastly more durable than spirit or pharaoh’s. Asa well as they don’t stink!!
