I went to "bump" a wanted ad, in which I am looking for 4 Paulson ACF $100 chips to complete a BOH, and my wanted ad thread was locked to any further postings.

Why is this necessary, to lock old threads? So I need to either be a nuisance and bump regularly so my thread doesn't lock, or start a new thread if I want to "bump" an old want ad?

I have wondered the same. I assumed it happened when the update was implemented...then all the old threads were locked. Just a guess on my part though.

According to the classified guidelines, ads auto close after 60 days of inactivity.

How old was it between bumps?

June 16, so a little over 2 months. OK, so I certainly could have poked this more often and not been huge nuisance :)
And I do wish old ads (including my own) that are no longer available (trade and sale) or wanted would be marked as cancelled.

But I just don't understand the lock-down. I can make new threads, but why?

I assume the rule was put in place mainly to cleanup older ads that were (unintentionally) never closed.

OK, but it doesn't really work like that, right? Because they still show up in searches? So they aren't really "cleaned up", except that you can't bump them, or respond to them.

Whatever. I'm moving on, and re-posting since I can't bump.

Maybe Tommy can unlock them for you to make it easier?

I have run into a similar issue to where I can't change the title after a certain amount of time. It leaves me to create a new thread as I can't change the quantity that I'm looking for.

Sorry all. I'm just having a really frustrating week (stupid people at work), so I have a low tolerance threshold for things that I don't think make any sense. I'm a cranky b*tch :)

It's no problem to repost stuff. I'll consolidate.
