Desjgn Bridge w/Jumbo Index (7 Viewers)

Don't listen to all of the 4 color heresy, haha

^ All of this. Lack of a bridge-size option is the only reason I don't currently use Desjgn cards.
My Desjgn cards are bridge sized with his medium index, the classic cultures I believe.

I'd be in for likely 6+ decks. A new pattern would be nice but it would likely be at a cost of hiring a designer. if you're hiring a designer for it, you may be able to outsource it to the forum. I'm curious if the existing Desjgn cards were designed by you or a business partner or was it just a one time freelance thing?

I would also love a 4 color deck.

He designs all of his card backs, artwork and typefaces if I recall, part of what makes them kickass.

@desjgn - By my best guesstimate and taking the low side on those that expressed more than one it appears we have close to 50 setups accounted for. I am sure there will be others to follow suit. I for one am excited to see this happening. What kind of commitment do you think we will need to see this happen? Give us a number and we WILL get it done.

Thank for being a great vendor partner to the community!

I'm in for a few.

(edit: although less interested if 4-color)

I'd buy at least 2 setups, and a new back design would be cool as I already own all the others!

I certainly don't need any more cards, but Bridge Jumbo would coax me into a set-up or 2 (or 6), depending on price.

Thank you for all the replies thus far. Maybe this could happen later on in the year. Playing cards are pricey to produce, but then I have also researched plastics and manufacturers, etc. to try and get good product. Hopefully something that people see as having value and quality. Minimum requirements are 1000 sets per back color set (red/blue for example). When I first started out with Desjgns, manufacturers allowed for 500 sets and I would get multiple back colors. Unfortunately, I do not get that luxury. If I could get a firm 500 set commitment, great.

I have designed playing cards from the very beginning of Desjgn. Everything from the backs to the faces (every queen, king, jack) so you are really getting functional/playable artwork in each card. Speaking of artwork, I *know* how much people dislike seeing card pron but deal with it....;)

For Justsomedude, yes the antiqued centers match what I do currently with the Classic Victorians. The 4-color decks would be something in the future, as it is a love/hate relationship with players. Jumbo index seems more popular with that style even though regular index is featured.

If you did a Group Buy thread and were able to come up with close-to-final costs, I'm sure you'd get the commitment/up-front payments you'd need. This is a very solid/interested community, who not only loves your product, but loves supporting DIY projects such as these.

I'll be the first one to tell you, if you put up a GB thread, I'd easily commit to 8 setups (approx. $100?) to make this happen!

PS: SICK mockups!!! Can we get an Ace-of-Spades mock??? :)

Thank you, yes, although I just get anxious about committing to doing something like this. I want to have product in hand versus doing any sort of pre-sales. However, I would love to do something really nice as an incentive too, like bronzed-embossed card protectors with a choice of all 4 ace designs that you see on Desjgn Classic Flourish and Victorian decks.

Makes sense... and I totally get it. That's a lot of money and a lot of responsibility for a group buy.

Maybe, as you mentioned, a Kickstarter is the way to go. That way they provide the tools and interface for you to communicate with the supporters/buyers, and keep everyone up to date as progress is made, and milestones are hit (or missed). Kickstarters, in general, also have much longer lead times that supporters are willing to accept, sometimes on the order of a year or more.

Ok, I revoke my previous statement. Your 4 color mockup is pretty sexy. I just hate the primary color red blue green black aesthetic.

Personally, and this is just one guy's opinion, I'd much rather save a buck, or even fifty cents, on a setup,

If same cost as previous ones $14-16. In for 2 jumbo bridge and 2 4 color setups. Someone should start making a spreadsheet of commitments

So... is it a pipe dream to get four back colors?

I do not mind helping keep track or organizing a GB for this to happen. I would love to see it happen so let me know if there is anything I can do. @desjgn I am willing to donate a little of my time!

Edit: Antique centers FTW!!! Classic Culture Red/Blue Backs FTW!!!

I have a couple of setups of the Classic Cultures Bridge-Red/Blue as well and they are very nice.
Srsly? I have an original setup of poker size, and regularly play with poker size Desjgn cards at the Hitching Post. I was under the assumption that bridge size was not offered..... :(

He's offered bridge size regular index (Classic Culture) for a while...I think they were available before the Classic Victorians to be honest. I first read about them on CT (http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/threads/classic-culture-bridge-size.71547/). His website is http://www.classicplayingcards.com/catalog.html.

So in! Your card are my favorite, but since I've been dealing a game, I can't use them. I buy a new setup every other week. I'd seriously rather be giving my money to you.

I believe I got mine through CaraGails as well. When they came out there were 10 colors available including the Red & Blue option. This was also my favorite Desjgn back design. ^^^ These with a jumbo index would rock. (y)

That back design is great but if all that is changing is the index size, I'm not sure that's going to be enough incentive to buy extra set-ups for those of us who already own that back. I imagine that back variety (like the Classic Victorian) would generate more interest, at least it will for me. :whistling:
