Big changes are coming to the PCF Marketplace. After a lot of discussion with members of the community, the marketplace is getting a full revamp and this time it will be 100% integrated directly into the forum. What that means is no more announcement style first posts telling you to “go here” to view the listing. Honestly, I never liked that UI myself, but that’s what we ended up with at the time.

The current auction system and layout were completely custom built for PCF by my very good friend and me. He did most of the heavy lifting, but it was a true collaboration. I’ve already seen screenshots showing it being copied elsewhere, which is basically a straight rip of “the best auction system that ever lived.” :ROFL: :ROFLMAO:

Anyway, the feedback system will be unified under one new system, and all of your existing feedback will be imported into it. Overall, the marketplace will be cleaner, leaner, and built with a much better UI. The problematic order/alert system will be sunset as well. We’re going to stick with how forums operate natively and build new features on top of that foundation.

That’s it for now. Thanks for reading my unnecessarily long post.

All sold, ended, and canceled auctions have now been archived in preparation for the new Marketplace. The first post of each auction discussion thread preserves the information in this format.

I would like to introduce a new member and volunteer. :cool

The new Marketplace section launching in the next 24-36 hours will kept tidy. If a For Sale, Wanted, or Trade ad has no activity for 60 days, LB will step in to mark it as expired and lock it. Will leave you a message too. Creators are welcome to post a new ad if theirs expires, but ads automatically closed by LB can’t be reopened.

Great addition.

The one thing I miss from the old marketplace is the mail icon. When you clicked it, a DM opened up with the sales thread title in the subject line.

It still does. It's just not where it used to be.

So there is no mail icon on mobile that I’m seeing. There used to be one next to the seller that you could click to ask a question about the sale item. It would put the sales thread title in the subject. When someone commented on the sales post, there used to be a mail icon next to their name. When you clicked it the subject was automatically filled in with the sales thread. Now I have to click their name and select send direct message. No subject is filled in.

Technically it is looking for the ad to be marked sold. Multi-item was added after.
@Tommy ,

So now a sales ad must have status “sold” to post feedback? Whereas the old market place was opposite, I.e. feedback must be posted before the ad was closed.

Now I see it. I will turn my phone from now on! :)

Just temp until I add the icon for mobile view portrait.

Made some updates.

Any reply in any forum and non-marketplace first posts - (prefills DM subject with Re: thread title)

Ad thread first post (top) and sidebar - (prefills DM subject with Re: ad title)

And if you want to send a direct message WITHOUT the ad or thread title automatically filled in as the subject, use the normal send button on the member card overlay (click on user's avatar) or from the user's profile page.

@Tommy

Purchased and received a "for sale" item. In an attempt to leave positive feedback, I am met with this:

I commented in original sales thread and item has been marked as sold.

Thanks in advance for any tips !

Made some updates. You should now be able to leave feedback, not having to wait for the ad to be marked sold, just the item in a multi-item listing.

This is correct. You also no longer have to pick "I'm the seller, buyer, or trader" either. I added logic for this.
