I like to think I have advocated for Circus Games, and I've written a manifesto for Circus Game Progression

I have had a blast with the previous group buys; I have noticed that it can be a bit overwhelming for people to browse through 45 game plaques. People will often look at a few, slide through the rest of the deck, and then close them up and set them down. I want to make the cards and games more appealing, and I think that if they are offered fewer choices, they will focus more on the options presented without feeling the need to spend excessive time picking a new game to play.

I've been working on this project for a bit now, and I'm excited about the efficiency of this set. One of the issues with the previous set is that everyone wants another game card, or a variant of the provided plaques; it seems endless.

I have also found that once someone understands a game concept or mechanic, they are willing to play variations of said game. Curating this set of games, my goal was to introduce specific game mechanics for players to learn. These concepts are the basis for other games and variants. I found 10 unique games that teach these concepts.

I've made the cards more durable and slightly smaller for easier handling. I would like to thank @<°)))><) for pointing me to this, along with inspiring some design changes.

10 Games on 5 cards; each has a game on the front and a back.
Please feel free to ask questions or leave feedback below.

Great idea. Hoping this will be an easier entrance into circus games for poker nights

I love the overall design and colours, makes each game stand out well from each other.

I don’t love the small/overlapping text on some of the games. Not sure if that’s just a design choice, but I’d rather just see the words on the right hand side of the games name in the same text. (Also the holdout 8 one in that yellow is almost invisible, the rest have nice contrasting colours)

Yeah some of the text is hard to read (in particular the tiny text below the cards). But I love the concept. These may even intrigue my crew who play near zero circus (yet).

You have a bisexual card? I think that was what it was called. Played @CraigT78’s house, think it is SOHE but with a predesignated common card between the Omaha and HE mitt hands. Craig, is that correct?

Will you be offering a group buy for these cards anytime soon? I am also in that group of people wanting to add circus games to my poker game and not knowing where to start. And great write up in your manifesto!

It is and the SOHE card is bisexual in the middle. I have subtitles under the primary name of the game.

I think it’s a better game than traditional SOHE

I was planning on kicking off a interest thread and if we can get enough interest, I’d run a group buy for them

Just saw you actually had that game in the pics…head smack!

These would make a great way to introduce and sort the games from the 45 card box—looking forward to the interest thread

can you size the cards around a common index card size so we can buy card protectors for them?
I really like the size of these, and they would fit in a 4 x 6 index standard-size protector.

These are 130 x 70mm; a 3 x 5 index card is 76.2 x 127 mm, which works out to 1/8 of an inch (longer). They are also 0.9 mm thick, about 1/3 the thickness of a poker chip or a credit card's thickness.

The thing is, these are harder than any clear plastic sleeve you would put them in. There is an option to have a hole punched in them; the hole can be elongated to keep them together with a keyring or lanyard. The cost per set would like be at least 1/2 of the previous versions.

I could make these on the pvc ID card printer I have . They would be credit card size though.

I wanted to post some FAQs in this thread

General questions:

What is the most challenging aspect of running Group Buys?

Great question Machine! By far, it is communication and the collection of funds. You see, there are spam tools that restrict posts, and PMs are posts. This protects us on the site from spammers. Often, Group Buy organizers have specific instructions on how to do something; it's not because they are pedantic (although this one likely is); it's designed to make communication faster and smoother for all the Group-Buy-ies. It helps prevent order quantity mix-ups and/or miscommunications.

Do you have any extras for sale?
A few others and I will order extras. Sometimes, we give them to hosts, and we know people will always ask after they miss something. Post in this thread if you would like. Sometimes ppl will post sell ads.

What is Free On Board shipping?
Well, I can tell you what it's not: it's not Free!
Here is an article that explains it in detail. Basically, it is me saying that I will get your order to the post office. Once they have it, they are responsible for the package.

Timing:

How long will the Group Buy take?
From the order date, the expected turnaround time: (20 business days)
The duration of order collection and fund collection varies; I like to leave it open, depending on the units, especially if we are close to another pricing tier.

I know this collection was curated with efficiency in mind, but would Scarney/Peanut (not all their variants) be games with unique enough mechanics to warrant their own card?

I’m interested in a set.
My group plays an orbit of NLH and then PLO. We always have to make a card that has the game title on them to remind everyone the game in play.
Can we get the standard games in this set also to show during these games?

I would be in for a complete set of the previous set in this size. I personally find that having each game variant laid out makes it easier to introduce the game to people. Some people prefer to read it rather than hear it.
