I know there are several threads discussing cash game breakdowns. I don‘t want to start another one, I‘m just curios and have not found a poll about this. How many racks of fracs do you prefer for a .25/.25 game?

I've changed my stance on this over the years.

Yeah 200 makes for full racks but 140-160 is about right for .25/.50, but honestly unless you are doing full ring 8+ players (I prefer 6-7 players) you can easily do with a single rack.

Ugh. Two racks.
For .25/.50, I’m firmly and angrily entrenched on the side of one rack, or up to 120.
I’ve never played .25/.25, but I have played $1/1, and I’d never consider doing that with a single rack of ones. So I begrudgingly vote for two racks of fracs for .25/.25.

As I age… unfortunately I have to admit those who say a rack of quarters is plenty! Anymore is just taking up table space.

I use to be in the "more fracs are better" group, but, @Machine literally beat that out of me. It was like being in a cold war era interrogation where he repeatedly asked "how many fracs do you vant?" In the wee hours of the morning I finally broke and said 120. It traumatized me to the point where I no longer play in games that use fracs.

Let‘s say budget is not relevant for this specific question.

I personally only play 8 handed max. We‘re 6-8 players most of the time and I don‘t plan to have more on one table. I find 8 to be the max I‘m comfortable with.

I did not put the option for other quantities in the poll because I prefer full racks. I know 120 is an option some prefer too.

Several have mentioned what I consider the main "issue" with fracs, that ideally 120-160 is ideal, but, then you have an uneven rack, and I can't sleep at night with screwed up racks like that.

Each players 1 barrel!

Anything less why are we collecting Poker chips?
THIS ^

And the very best part is getting to chose the chip/color/edge spots that you think are cool or looks perfect with your set. And you can use separate non-denominated chips like starbursts for your fracs.

I used to be in the more is better camp, but I’m pretty firmly in the 120-140 fracs max camp now.

Most of the fracs usually just end up in one or two stacks anyways imo.

table full of chip solution: use a side table for the cards :p

Sure don’t need all of those, but there was a time when they were really cheap to buy and relabel…

nice:love:
I personally do not go for bright fracs.

Everyone has to have at least a barrel 1st buyin.

Used to be 120 so I could do 12 chips for 10 players (and 12 $1s for 10 players). Now I see that 1 rack does the job. If easy, I will pick up another barrel to give out 6 barrels to 6 of my 9 players. But def don't need 2 racks.
