Me tooOk, i just got some weird notices that I need to pay for auctions that have been paid for.
I opened a support thread, so you are saying that I'm not a deadbeat???
I just paid @TheChipVault another $3.9k because I’m not like @TheBigTaterSlowly rolling out the updates for the MP today. Many new features. I have some patches to add later. If you get any weird alerts, see purple cows. just disregard.
Give it another try. Could have been at the same time I was working on it.Tommy I just tried to post an auction, it shows it started but does not show up on the marketplace?
Yep I'm a welcher, just like G-Man.I just paid @TheChipVault another $3.9k because I’m not like @TheBigTater
You’ll still be able to sell that way and handle everything manually, especially when selling multiple items in one listing. Will this be getting rid of the silly options now when listing classifieds?
Maybe I'm the outlier, but this whole payments accepted how will it ship stuff doesn't apply or fit for 95% of my listings.
Right, gotcha. You’ll still be able to sell that way and handle everything manually, especially when selling multiple items in one listing.
This is geared more toward sellers who list one item at a time and would enjoy a little automation during the transaction.
You can list as many accepted payment methods as you want in your settings. Then, when you create a For Sale ad, you can choose which payment methods you’ll accept for that specific listing. If you only accept one payment method, then you’ll only see one box to check.I just meant the options we have now.

I can accept multiple, but I prefer to 1 specifically. Seems like many folks are similar, but this doesn't cover that. And you don't want to put the others that you can accept since then you have to add which your preference is in the post.
@TommyHappy Friday all! (not for me though, it's my Wed.)
I’ll be moving the WTB section over to the new Marketplace sometime today. Auctions have already been there since last year.
This will be done in steps so everyone has a chance to get used to the new UI and the new flow for creating ads. I understand not everyone will be thrilled about the change, and that’s OK. This is part of modernizing how transactions between members work.
During the transition, some navigation links may act a little weird for a bit while sections are being moved around.
The new Marketplace also includes an improved feedback system. Once all ad sections have been moved over, the current feedback records will be imported into the new system.
The Marketplace also has a better alert system to help keep transactions moving. Buyers will receive alerts when they need to pay, including a link to the order page in their Marketplace dashboard. Sellers will also receive alerts when they need to ship an item.
Sellers can also add tracking information directly to the order page, and the system will automatically send those details to the buyer.
To make the transaction workflow easier, I strongly recommend adding your shipping information to your Marketplace address book now. This information is only shared with the seller when you choose to send it after making an Auction purchase or For Sale ad purchase.

I also recommend setting up your Marketplace payment profiles for the payment types you accept. When creating an Auction or For Sale ad, you’ll be able to choose from your saved payment profiles. Your payment details are only shared with the buyer when you choose to send them.
Thanks!
Tommy
Yes, that’s one way to access the new feedback system, but the most direct is by going to your MP dashboard and using either the My Purchases or My Sales page.@Tommy
Moving forward for Auctions, does that mean feedback will be through the icon on the Auction page instead of clicking Add Feedback under the OP’s avatar?
I know y'all are laissez faire on classifieds. Just a comment from one little user, it's to such an extreme that it greatly protects sellers/scummy people far more than general public and buyers.
I can't speak to the user experience (or if it's even possible within xenforo), but having an input field for price might have a greater impact than the entirety of the past X updates.
The amount of sellers that have regular price decreases with no history, the amount of times someone "decreases" a price but doesn't, the amount of times some decreases a price but then it goes back up but then decreases it later with no history of any of the above, blech. The amount of times people erase pricing before closing a thread. And so on.
We may "be a community not a classifieds", but the fact is a classifieds exists and it's the wild wild west to the detriment of all.
A much larger undertaking (potentially, I don't know any of your setup with the relational databases and what you have access to within MySQL and all that jazz) but insanely useful would be utilizing tags for the marketplace. While I know I know laissez faire and you're not going to be using condition terms that the community can't even agree on, tags like HSI/IG/etc. along with Leaded/Unleaded, Hotstamp, Inlay, etc. would all be an incredible update. Not only for search capabilities and historicals, but also being able to automatically pull pricing data. Add those two things above together, and 80% of the constant marketplace nonsense threads go away - because users have visibility, audit trail, meaningful information.
Appreciate the feedback, I’ll see what we can do to improve the UI flow. You’ve already given me some ideas.Similar/related threads was cool. Update to search (I may be remembering completely wrong) from the outside looking in was g*d awful.
I'm never a fan of condensing options and forcing me into additional screens and clicks. Having to go to PMs to search PMs is not a huge difference, but thousands and thousands of time per user over a year is a lot. (yes I realize that not everything can just be hamburger menus from the 90s, and yes I realize I probably am not recognizing the positive that came from this change).
