The 1st baseman didn't direct the ball to the second baseman, it bounced off him to the second baseman, who then recorded the out out, 4-1.

Went to Chase Field tonight. Skenes pitched a gem. 97 pitches, 2 hit shutout through 8. Coto came on to close it out.

First hit was in the 6th and it was a swinging bunt. Skenes through it 15 feet past the first baseman and they called it a hit - shoulda been an error. Next hitter, Skenes grooves one and it gets ripped for a single. Didn’t allow a hit after that. Zero walks on the day too.

As I have discussed, my brother now works at the baseball Hall of Fame. The Military Classic game is today, there is a golf tournament tomorrow and most people fly out on Monday.

He was asked to shuttle people to/from the airport. He has been texting me stories about Rick Monday's family, Wade Boggs, Jonathan Lucroy, Rollie Fingers and Al Bumbry. He's teamed up with Alex Wilson for today's game.
