2026- New Mold Ideas (4 Viewers)

This idea may be too complicated or before it’s time - what about a US city skyline mold- I was thinking Las Vegas strip composition of the best casinos (even if not the current building structure) or a Las Vegas icons mold- those symbols of Las Vegas history that make Las Vegas authentic, unique and memorable- was thinking more like Evil Kanevil’s motorcycle or his jumping over cars scene as one of the icons potentially, but that wouldn’t necessarily have to be one. I expect others would have some awesome ideas here, I was thinking of symbols, not people’s faces or silhouettes, but that could be another possibility as well. Thinking outside the box and with all the advancements in printing more may be achievable than the past when it comes to molds. Idk where that limit is today.

Maybe just me, but I'd love to see more house mold options. Challenge will be obviously versatility.. “Card Room” “Casino” or “Las Vegas” likely the options that would have largest appeal.

It appears that most casino house molds have a 1" inlay and I think there's only 1 mold with words on it. Would people be interested in one for home games that said something like "Poker Room" or "Card Room" and had suits on it? :spades::diamonds::clubs::hearts:
Something like that might be cool and usable for a lot of designs

Years ago back on ChipTalk, a user posted a chip called the Spartan mold. It had 6 or 8 repeating spartan helmets. I thought it looked good. How many label themes it would apply to - I don't know.
Not exactly as I remember but it was something like this:

May be on to something here. What about "Poker" at top and bottom and suits on the sides? Also "Las Vegas" with the suits on the side

I always thought the generic Las Vegas bland poker molds were super cheesy and one of the worse but what do I know lol just giving feedback. Would rather see suits etc for same vibe theme and doesn’t back you into a corner.

Agree with @SeanGecko . Larger inlay option and suits. I prefer the spaced out single suits you first showed in thread. The cluster will be tougher to perceive and appreciate on an actual chip.

For whatever reason I'm not a big "words on the mold itself" guy. Also, web mold is my favorite. I admit my biases.

I’m in favor of smaller inlays, and less engraving into the mold. I think molds like Jester, RHC and Small Crown give the best feel.

I’d love more house molds though they are definitely more restrictive. Which is why I suggested the Nevada mold, as it covers both Vegas and Reno tribute sets.

The suits mold makes most sense though for customization. Horseshoe mold could be another option.

So now we have mimicked the Greek key, the web, small crown, and hat and cane, but I’d rather go for something other than a copy of the pips mold or any other mold like cigar and snifter. Just my 2 cents here.

As someone who just got a jester mold set and really (really) likes it, are you thinking of replacing molds like jester and sun, or just adding more?

What are the current ideas?
Suits
Stars
Boobs
Any defunct chips we could bring back to life?
The web mold started in underground poker rooms so any other suggestions???

Are there practical limitations on what can be done? For example, the Web and Sun molds are very organized. Can the mold design be unorganized?

Ideas I've had so far
diamonds
coins (gold dubloons, roman insignia)
shamrock (on coins?)
comets
laurel wreaths
unorganized geometric pattern
decorative knots or rope with knots
anchors, fouled anchors
tassles
a bracelet band design (evocative of poker bracelets)
trophy rings
gold bars
complex or crashing waves
knives
life like continuous waves
goblets

(more than?) Enough for now.

I was partial to the Palm mold the last time a poll was taken by Justin, but I believe it came in 3rd. Since I'm a Mirage fan, the Palm mold had then and still has my vote.
I realize many PCF members love the Greek and Spider molds, but I was never a fan of either and would never get chips with those molds. I chose a no mold Mirage Chips to purchase.

Boobs only in 3rd place?
(Not that there's anything wrong with that...)

There’s a tiki right when you walk into Frankie’s in LV that is carrying a big poker chip. That’s the mold we need. It’s a modified dice mold with repeating geometric shapes.

I’ll get these in play for my beginner players who ask what do I do every time it’s on them.
Look to the chip, Elaine. Look to the chip.

If we're gonna get are manties in a knot about replicating a mold when we're already replicating the inlay, how about, in honor of Mike McD, a mold that says THE FUCKING MIRAGE?

I like the suites mold (spaced, not clusters). Palm tree mold is decent in terms of it's visual appeal, but I think it is still a little too niche. I kinda like the idea of generic-ish words (NEVADA or CARDROOM perhaps)

I think something vaguely nautical like a rope pattern could result in something that's geometric enough to be used on a wide variety of chips. But then again... web is my fave, so maybe we stick purely geometric.

Does Tina design the actual molds or does someone on the forum usually send her a vector file?
