When it's a group email and someone takes their personal convo to a Reply All and spokes off another convo in the group email ... that's worse.

players can move into the small blind in tournaments. You just cannot have someone in between the small blind and button.

The standard move would be to get the next big blind (ie worst position) and move into the worst seat. It doesn’t usually work out this way because usually the following hand has started at the short handed table, but as described if you moved the table that fast he should go into that seat but play as single big blind.

So they would be the new BB instead of the button and having someone else post the BB? The SB is dead either way so thats not a factor.

It's not the easiest to put into words, but...
  • Nobody gets the big blind twice in a row.
  • The player expecting the button (if nobody was eliminated) will get the button, regardless of eliminations (does not apply to heads-up play, but that's not your situation).
  • Fill the seats of the eliminated players. The player from the "moving" table is the next player due to get the BB. I've seen other systems that are not TDA rules (seat 6 moves to seat 6, or UTG moves to UTG), but those systems are either flawed or take longer (subject for another thread). The guy that would get the BB now may get the BB or may get a temporary reprieve. They may not "stall" to let the blind pass their seat - the penalty for dodging the blind is a minimum 1-orbit penalty.
If I read your situation right (the BB was eliminated), the empty seat would be the SB the player who would be the button is the button, and the next player to be the BB gets no relief from the blinds. The new player (who was going to be the BB at the other table) assumes the role of the SB. It's as if nobody was eliminated, and the player that was moved gets a little longer to learn the new table before he has to pay the BB (and BB ante if one is used).

Just to clarify, the situation is that a big blind busts in a MTT: The following hand there are three scenarios, in all of them, the button advances.

1) no one is moved or placed before the hand starts (this is really common, not ideal, but usually it isn’t so instant to have the seat filled). In that case it is a dead small blind.

2) there is a new entrant or the seat is filled because an entire table breaks before the next hand is dealt. Maybe an alternate list with the first alternate hovering. In situations there is no requirement that these players be given the worst seat. If a player is assigned that seat they should receive a hand and assume the small blind.

3) to balance tables, the next big blind at another table is moved and is placed in the worst seat. The worst seat in this very specific instance is a single big blind to the left of the button. There is no small that hand. The following hand, the button does not advance, the moved player is now small blind.

I stand corrected. ^^^ is the correct ruling. Ignore my previous post.

TDA rule 11A (2024)
11: Balancing Tables and Halting Play
A: To balance in flop and mixed-games, the player to be big blind next moves to the worst position, including single big blind if available, even if that means the seat is big blind twice. Worst position is never the small blind. In stud-only, players move by position (last seat open at the short table is the seat filled).
 
New build houses from big national builders are just absolute garbage. Less than 3 years in this thing and it’s been nothing but problems. Some of the neighbors have it even worse than we do.

I just took a built-in microwave to the face because it ripped out of my cardboard cabinet and papier-mache wall.

Gawd, they build here in Central Florida. Builders are using bargain basement materials because they have to pay impact fees ("you're gonna fill our roads with cars and schools with kids? then you're gonna help pay for the next ones") and want to recoup them now instead of waiting for the house to sell.
Anymore I tell people, get a plot of land not in a subdivision, pick the builder, tell them you'll get the construction permanent loan and they can handle the rest. Independent builders rely on nothing going wrong to keep a good enough reputation to get future business.
 
They're all about cost per sq. ft. and building them as cheap as possible to maximize profits. Building codes are bullshit too.

We moved in about 3 years ago to a new Lennar home.

I said I wanted my independent home inspector to view the build site and during construction, they wouldn’t them onsite until finished. They said they inspect the house and it’s inspected by the county to very strict standards and not required blah blah blah.

Best $430 I spent, the man found a leak in the attic that had started to spread, found a bunch of stuff not to code (like flue exhausts not correctly installed, AC overflow pipes not connected to anything and a 100 small important things like kitchen drawers not installed correctly).

I sent a list of like 30 things to Lennar to fix within my 1 year anniversary for warranty. Of those, they have fixed 1 (they installed the washer with the hot water going into the cold inlet and hot going into cold, couldn’t work out why clothes were shrinking…)

My spec builder said the same thing about my pre-build inspection. I laughed and told them the county is rolling through thousands of inspections and overlooking stuff. The first thing my inspector caught was an unstable frame in the garage and an improper bathtub frame. Money well spent. From my experience, when someone is trying to talk you out of something you are spending $ on and it doesn't cost them a cent, do it.

Yeah - have you seen any of cyfy homeinspections on youtube? Shocking level of bad ‘new’ builds out there. We really didn’t want to get into a new build HoA, but didn’t have many alternatives. Overall though we got lucky and pretty happy now - most of the stuff they haven’t addressed is minor annoying stuff, nothing major.

Our home inspector also found a bunch of cracked roof tiles we never would have seen (guess drones are common now).

Haha I’m always amazed at how expensive the cheapest houses ever made are. The decrease in level of craftsmanship in just a generation is incredible. I walk into brand new houses nowadays and see work that’s equivalent to my level of expertise and that’s just sad.
 
Builder grade sucks. Starts with Goodman HVAC units. When I had to replace my 2 units, I went with Rheem. I could immediately tell the difference in efficiency.

Edit, the salesman said that the quality was about the same; that Goodman had much improved. Total bullshit. Quoted me the same price for both.

Yep - our friends had a house for a while in Utah, built by the owner who was also a carpenter. You could just appreciate the craftsmanship in pretty much everything, down to the door frames, cabinets etc.

I look at some of the new build multi-million dollar homes now online and it’s the same materials/ build quality as the $700k track homes.

This was also very much my experience, though we got them to come out here for more than 1 thing, the stuff they addressed was barely fixed.

We had an issue where the frame/track for the screen door on a sliding door was improperly installed. They literally just left a new screen door on our front porch and closed the ticket.

Our HVAC still isn’t working correctly, attic wasn’t properly ventilated, we have a bathroom with no hot water at all, the stairwell wall is not level, they planted dead grass and trees once the lot was ready (at the end of November) for which we were IMMEDIATELY cited by the HOA (oh god don’t get me started on HOAs, that could be an entirely separate thread) and the list goes on and on.

Even with inspectors along the way and right before our warranty expired, we can’t get them to competently fix anything when we do find something wrong.
 
Our builder grade A/C unit never worked for the 1st 7-8 years. Builder blamed the A/C contractor; A/C blamed the builder and neither would take action. Year 1 it was a screw in the line causing a leak. Year 2, a new leak. Year 3, a coil leak, coil replaced (all with the lower unit), year 5 upper unit gets a leak, year 6 upper unit has a bad coil, year 7, lower unit coil and outside unit bad, replaced with a Trane. Year 8, outside unit on the upper goes, replaced with. Trane. All fixed on my dime. Since the Tranes were installed, 0 issues
 
Chipflation… me not buying all of these in 2012 makes me feel like I missed out on early retirement ha.

Literally thousands of building codes were written because people died. Usually it takes hundreds of deaths to get a new code on the books. This goes all the way back to Hammurabi, who wrote one of the first building codes.

Building codes are annoying, but not bullshit.

...and I'm saying this as a guy whose back deck doesn't (currently) comply. If I sell, I'd have to block off the 2nd stairway because there's no handrail (4 steps that lead to a shed). Just screw in a railing, and leave the steps - I mean, flower pot shelves. If the new owner decides to remove the railing, America wins.

I should have been clearer...I meant compliance vs corruption. I agree building codes are there for safety - as long as they're adhered to. My experience has been that there's way more "looking the other way" going on.
 
Underestimated the attendance at the main event. Brought chips for 66, 104 attendees. Some players came in with 10BBs. I was last one in.

I'm the last one to enter. I look at QQ with 3 BBs maybe 20 hands later. Dude opened to 3BBs and I jam and he has AQ and of course he hits an ace. He proceeds to get 2nd at the tourney
