Things That Are Bullsh*t (25 Viewers)

The landlord does not feel safe with randos in his house lol.

If it was anyone else I would fight it but this guy can evict at anytime for a family member to move in and its a good rental price so ill take a loss on the table.
That certainly qualifies for this thread. I’m stunned, what an absolute mfer. He gets to dictate whom you can or can’t invite to your place and what you do? (Which isn’t partying/loud/illegal)

Yea that's not how it works. I understand you don't want to fight it, but I've been managing rental properties for close to 10 years now.

Each province has it's own policies but this is specific for Toronto:

"In Toronto, Ontario, a landlord cannot evict you simply for having guests over. Tenants have a legal right to "quiet enjoyment" of their rental unit, which includes hosting visitors, partners, or guests for any length of time."

He can evict for personal use in 60 days and I think that would work

Sure, but it’s very easy to prove a bad faith eviction given that he’s already hopefully messaged you and left evidence about not wanting guests. And if he re-rents it again within the year, he’ll owe you a years worth of rent if you go to the tribunal.

It’s a hassle for sure, but just wanted to let you know your rights

If everything else is okay then probably not worth shaking the hornets nest so to speak

Do you live in his house?

All this over a $0.05 / $0.05 game is tough to say it would be worth it. Theres hills to die on this prob isn't one of them.

Update, a years worth of rent is like a months paycheque lol so not worth the hassle to move out and challenge. And his son's coming back and actually needs a place so it would be the easiest eviction & stay.

Sounds like you need to teach him how to play poker

I offered the landlord 2k for the right to play poker (something I had the right to begin with) and he turned it down lmao. Thats like 40k BBs at my 0.05/0.05 stakes.

The table will be an unrealized loss until I move.

If it's a T-Chan table, ask Tony to build a topper. Then when you have friends over, its just dinner/friends hanging out. Keep the table, dual purpose the table, and keep the game.

Win-win-win.

USPS again…supposedly delivered a package with chips yesterday to a secure mail room/box. Nowhere to be found...

Also bought an eBay single, was mailed on 3/22 and made it to Dallas before disappearing for 2 weeks and then popping up in Columbus, OH somehow. Supposed to arrive today…just hoping it does. Look at this tracking...lmfao...

Turns out the item "delivered" yesterday was not USPS bullshit, sender did not put my suite number on the envelope. Which is bullshit. WTAF is wrong with some people? I check addresses like three times even when sending out a $1 chip. Thankfully I caught the USPS guy today and he did a search and found it in the outgoing mail box b/c the guy yesterday must have said f' it and threw it in there.

2nd package also was there after its journey across the continental U.S. Glad all is accounted for but geez!!!!!

And now an electrician I set an appointment with a week ago for tomorrow morning (and scheduled a bunch of other stuff around same) is saying he wants to reschedule...FFS.

God bless America. Silver lining is it saves me money, time, and headaches.
I've quit doing things people don't ask me to do.
"I can do that" has become "Get with me if you want me to do that."
You can tell me what to do, or you can tell me how to do it. Not both. If you're so damned smart, you should be doing it yourself.

Remember when Amazon used to deliver shit when they said they would?

You gotta watch because when you order, many times it says delivery tomorrow but only if certain criteria are met.
Yes. And since I’ve stopped paying for Prime, there seem to be even more criteria.
Stuff that’s already in the local warehouse is no problem. But stuff coming from 3rd party sellers is a total crapshoot. And I wouldn’t mind if their system gave you accurate updates, but they don’t. They’ll tell you it’s coming on the 16th, right up until the 17th, at which point they’ll change to to the 22nd, and you know it’s a meaningless date, because there are still no actual updates.
It’s probably a USPS problem more than anything. Which I can deal with. Just don’t ever let your app tell me it’s being delivered today when there’s no reason to believe that’s true.

TLDR: X-Ray glasses and Sea Monkeys are BS

Reminded me of when we had to fill out an order form and snail mail it along with a check or money order. Then wait 6-8 weeks for delivery.

I still have flat army men in their cardboard footlocker, lol. I did sea monkeys once but they wanted distilled water. Where in the hell is a 8 yr old going to get distilled water in 1970? We just had hose water

I’m pretty sure I sent away for something with bazooka joe comics, but I can’t for the life of me remember what.
And I definitely sent in big league chew pouches to get a batting glove.
Never had any interest in the sea monkeys. I was definitely interested in the xray glasses, but even at a very young age, I knew they were bullshit.

just...lol

I do wonder if it's there's genius behind it like the Nigerian prince email scammers. They famously (purportedly) put typos and obviously signals its fraud in those scam attempts in order to isolate only the suckers. By anchoring at such a high price, only someone without a clue may respond and then "negotiate" down to a more reasonable price of $20/chip.

Or...maybe there some tax game being played here? Or I give up.

Nah, chips are real. He's taking the piss.
