I’m in talks with a seller outta Eureka, CA. The old coot won’t ship.

No members are close…

Does anyone have a plug in Eureka that wants to make a few bucks?

I could conceivably fetch them for you, and I would do it, if only to play with these beauties for a few hours before shipping them to you. But...

I'm in Berkeley. Eureka is a 5-hour drive. There's gas, hotel, and meals to consider.

Float me $500-ish for the set? That would cover gas, hotel, a few meals, chips, hopefully shipping, and perhaps leave a small bit for my time and effort. Said chips are probably worth $1500-ish, so it still works out to a decent value for you.

If you like this idea, PM me and we can look into this for next weekend.

Oh, and one caveat...

I collect chip samples, especially shuffle sets. If this set is a nice, tidy 300 chips in a 100-100-75-25 breakdown or such, you will recieve exactly that. But if the set is, say, 306 chips with an extra or two of each color, you will recieve 300 chips and I'll keep a sample set for myself.

After an attempt to be a helpful, Mushmanchuman didn't want me to go through the trouble to pick these up for him. After way-too-little deliberation, I contacted the seller and made the 4 1/2 hour journey to snatch these for myself.

Chips now in hand and finally in a hotel room with nice light so I can look at them...these are worth the trip! Pictured below are 299 minty fresh, pre-poker boom Paulson chips. On initial examination, not a fleabite is to be found in the box. It is possible these have seen little, if any, play.

Y'all can expect these up for sale in the not-too-distant future. I did a third date with a girl last night who I introduced to clay poker chips and she seemed to find them cool. I'm gonna give her a chance to handle these before I try selling them to one of you jackels...

They will cost slightly more than $100.

Facts! This set is nice but won’t sell for more what, maybe $500? Especially sense everyone know how much he spent.

It’s another situation just like the Good Luck Casino chips that @Kage has been trying to sell. Everyone knows he got them for free and are not going to buy them for the listed price.

Everyone knows he got these for $100. So when he lists them for $1,000 the sale will be forever bumped into oblivion. Then he’ll say “well I drove up to get em, got a room, steak dinner, opened the mini bar, etc. He’ll try and add that in to the price and except someone to compensate him for his entire trip.

This set has just reached its forever home unless he lists it for a reasonable price. You know, $499 or something.

The hotel room was an add-on for the overall price. If he zipped up there and back I could see giving him $150 for the favor. Covers gas and time.

The hotel made it so in return the trade from me would be more than $250. After adding gas and hotel, time and food he came up with about $500 for the trip and the $100 for the chips. No way someone’s gonna pay that.

Now with all this wrapped in to the chips I expect them to be listed for $1,000. $600 to make his trip $$ back and another $400 looking to make profit.

Again these will be bumped forever or moved to eBay for sure. Too bad cuz these woulda been a fun set. Hope he enjoys them and the hotel was nice.

Sometime I just don’t get this forum. Two weeks ago @Mushmanchuman was ridden hard about flipping chips he got off marketplace, another buy comes up he needs some help with, then says take them for yourself I can’t find a helper, someone does exactly that, is a little silly for posting said fact, and is beaten down for it. You just can’t win on either end here.

If I stole a a deal from someone here, I'd at least offer a finder's fee... That didn't happen.

@Mushmanchuman told @LowerBama1714 to take the deal for himself if he wanted it. Then @Papasatyr makes a ridiculous offer (IMO) and when @Mushmanchuman declined, @Papasatyr announces that he bought them and will be flipping them.

My assessment stands. Dick move.

Nah I was ridden hard about getting the SJF chips for $300. I don’t think I’ve been in a flipping thread for a few months. lol
