Transplanted Philadelphian living in Orlando. My Flyers might be un-good but I'll never go down I-4 to see them among the Tampons (Tampahns) ever again. 2 of the 3 times I went I got food/beer thrown on me each time the Frightning scored a goal. On the way out of one some asshole pegged my then-girlfriend in the eye with a piece of ice, I went after him, tripped over a step, knocked an elderly person over and they tresspassed me from the building for (however long, I haven't been back).
The outside fan treatment isn't much better at Bucs games. And this is coming from a PHILLY fan.

My damn Canes up 3-0 twice in 2 nights and find a way to give it up both times. I'm still pissed the Panthers took out Jarvis by tripping him into the goal post, no call and Jarvis will be out for a while. Good comeback by the Bolts!

The Lightning Stadium Series game vs Boston was great. We scored 11 seconds in, then the Bruins scored the next 5 goals. Down by 4 and pissed off, a goalie fight ensued and the Bolts tied the game and won in a shootout. The game time temp was 37° and the atmosphere was electric.
That game was nutballs! I had it on as I was cleaning the living room closet and repairing the door, every time I turned around the story line changed! The goalie fight seemed almost scripted for the point of the game it came in. Boston got on the heels of their skates and never got off.
I'm a Flyers fan and quite often the Bolts just really annoy me ... but that was as good a commercial for the NHL that they could get. Good on ya' for getting to go. I lost track of since I'm so used to the NHL doing that around New Year's.

Hockey, IMO, is the one sport that is still better in person in the age of hi-def TV.
That said, the Winter Classic and the Stadium Series (and the ticket prices the NHL charges) are out of hand. I went to the Cold War at the Big House and watched a college hockey game outdoors. I didn't mind so much because the seat price was $10 each, but the sight lines were awful and I watched most of the game on the big screen. I've been offered seats to other outdoor NHL outdoor games in Ann Arbor and Chicago and have zero interest in going.

Kucherov is having a freaking renaissance year despite missing time this season. I don't know what team will come out of the Atlantic to play in the conference finals, but as far as I'm concerned, whoever it is will handily dump their Metro opponent and take down whatever pretender (Yes, even Colorado) the West puts up in the Cup final.

It's better that way. Seeing the Panthers getting their just desserts yet again to that degree creates such arousal that would feel uncomfortable in public.
