Going from Online to Casino (22 Viewers)

In Greece, all casinos, if they ever offer any poker-among-players that is, are starting at 2/5 Euros, which is only a playground for rich foreigners (if you factor in that the average Greek salary is 1/3d of the American one).

Poker lovers play in home games without rake, usually at stakes below casino stakes (absolute max 1/2E), and hence below the radar of the Police.
The Police, generally, won't bother if it's a strictly private venue and there 's no usury.

Is there any live casino etiquette worth to be aware of? I already know about a tipping, but I’m curious about „run it twice” etc stuff, like etiquette between the players.

The only thing you shouldn't do is tell everyone "I folded 94o" when the board comes 944 and you should be fine

In all seriousness you can choose whether or not you want to go twice, it's just a way to reduce variance. My philosophy is that if there's 200bb or more in the pot (preflop), we can go twice. Anything less, once

Also don't talk about other people's play at the table. Some people do this live and it tilts me so much, even if the play was bad or whatever, keep that stuff in your head

What do you guys do to get faster at chip counting around the table? Eyeball in sets? what if the guys just have a gross untidy pile of chips?

live tells and the field being a LOT softer than basically any online player pool.

Some random tips as someone who made the transition recently:
  • Just like online, table selection is key wherever you play. Don't feel bad asking for a table change if you feel like the table is bad
  • Don't hesitate to ask for a count if you can't make out how much villain bet
  • Use the first few sessions as a way to get oriented with the speed of live poker, it's okay to be nervous
    • If you normally play higher stakes online, possibly play some games at lower stakes so you can get used to the environment
  • Have fun!
