Gotcha, yeah clearing the cache / local data will do that :/ I believe that Safari has fairly strict per-tab memory limits, which is probably why you hit this. My computer also has 48 GB of RAM, which honestly should be way way more than is needed. I'd also be curious to know, were you uploading inlay images? A large image upload could potentially use more memory than I am anticipating, so perhaps that has something to do with it.

The inlay makes total sense...I uploaded a 1.8mb inlay and used it in each of my chips.

This is pretty amazing. One question: is there anyway to save or move your design for editing to another browser?

QuietMaple updated Chipmatic Studio (a poker chip design tool) with a new update entry:

Distortion of spots on the rolling edge can be controlled independently per Spot Pattern

You can now adjust the distortion parameters for the rolling edge distortion ("squish") of each spot pattern independently. This is especially useful when doing compound spots where you want more significant squish on the "outer" part of the spot and less on the "inner" spot. I've also slightly adjusted the UI for edge spot distortion.

In this example, the dark green spot has a high squish "amplitude" while the yellow spot in the center has a much lower value.

Let me know what yall think about these customizations, my goal was to make something that pops and hasn’t really been made before.

I'm digging the $25
Same here! Very cool chip. Bet it looks good rotated 45 degrees too.

$500 makes me think of the circus (in a good way)...would be a cool set on the 43mm Jester Mold.

Thank you very much! The name I came up with for the $25 was “dazed and confused”. As for the rest, $1 (laffy taffy) $2 (banana) $5 (strawberry shortcake) $100 (Pittsburgh) $500 (galaxy). Let me know if there should be other or better names. I appreciate all of your feedback back.

QuietMaple updated Chipmatic Studio (a poker chip design tool) with a new update entry:

Added Jester Mold (both 39mm and 43mm)

In addition to the Web Mold and Smooth Mold, you can now select Jester Mold! I think the next mold I'll add will be Sun, but there will probably be other quality of life improvements that come first unless folks are really clamoring for Sun Mold (Even though you can't visualize Sun Mold in Chipmatic at the moment, you can still specify it in your order with Broken Arrow if you want Chipmatic designs on that mold).

what dimensions do I need for an inlay on the 39mm smooth mold please?
In Chipmatic, the "39mm Smooth Mold" refers to what people also call the "no mold hybrid." It's a chip with a recess for an inlay sticker. As Sean said, the inlay sticker is 25.8mm diameter. If you're uploading an image for the inlay sticker, it will be scaled to that size, so higher resolution is always better.

If you wanted to create a design for Textured No-Mold Non-Hybrid Chips, then you could have the central design be whatever size you want because it's just going to be printed on to the chip. However, Chipmatic can't currently be used to generate vector files for non-hybrid chips because the inlay sticker and the chip body are generate as two different files.

thanks, is there an easy way to generate a non hybrid chip from the chipmatic?

Not at the moment.

I could add that as a feature / mold option in the future, which would combine the inlay graphic and the chip body into one single vector graphics file, but it's not currently possible.

QuietMaple updated Chipmatic Studio (a poker chip design tool) with a new update entry:

Added Import/Export for chip parameters

I've added a dialogue to Chipmatic that allows users to export their chips and sets to a data file, and then later upload them. This is handy for a few reason:
  • If you want to move your chips to another browser, you can do so with these files
  • If you want to share a set here on PCF so that other people can edit it, you can do so with these files
  • If you need to clear your browser data, you can export your set(s) to files beforehand
  • You can export a set and then re-upload it...

That would be fantastic
