I tried for a while to secure some avalon 5s/PCA. Was going to ship to gear for some awesome saw blade style fracs. Someone else did it on PCF. Sadly, could never lock down the chips outside of buying a whole set of Avalons for like 4.5k.

Doubtful anyone who knows what they're talking about said this. You can always check past sale threads like mine from February for proof. Maybe they were in less than stellar condition? Sharp 1's & 5's command the most price at about $8/chip but most of the rest around $3-$5. The $5k's maybe a little more.

The problem is if I post a wanted add for these prices for a 1k chip set similar to the denominations I have posted above, there will be zero takes that would sell it. So is it really the price when there is no one willing to sell here?
Those are Paulson Classics. Not WTHC. Same era, completely different chips

The problem with your logic is that the people who have these chips aren't interested in selling so they're not looking at Wanted Ads OR they're not willing to sell at fair market value.
If you post a Wanted Ad for WTHC @ $15/chip your Inbox will blow up. If you don't believe me, give it a try. I have 500 I'm DEFINITELY willing to let go for that price.

Think you misunderstood my post - was referring to the prices you mentioned, not mine.
Will you sell me 1k WTHC chips (300 1s, 300 5s, 100 of 25s - 1000s) for $6.8k? That is what your pricing says. I'm a buyer there. Are you a seller there? If so, let's go. If not... you see my point...
No, I understood your post. I mentioned why you wouldn't get any bites from people here on PCF but i guess you didn't read my 1st sentence.
My point is you obviously know what fair market value is. Do you know how I know? Because you've borrowed MY pictures several times from MY previous sales threads & seen what they sell for.
You're asking fot $18.69/chip which is way higher. I'm just saying if you are interested in buying @ $15/chip I will sell you my 500.

So my price is maybe a bit high, your price is maybe a bit low, somewhere in the middle is true price. I JUST sold a 993 chip set of WTHC for 13.5k this week. In Nov 2025 I sold a 789 WTHC set for $10k. You can makeup whatever price you want, but these are real and recent transactions.

13.5k for 993 was right here on PCF - that lot was listed for 15k on eBay and I didn't say I sold the 993 for 15k, now did I.
