Have we finally reached market saturation?? (8 Viewers)

You should disclose that you designed the inlays and assisted on the colors and spot selection. :wow:
Cratty.

I’m really hoping you didn’t talk them into doing something cool like incorporating the South China Sea or a specific province, Macau, etc.

Fingers crossed that these chips follow suit like the Agave chips from “Mexico”, and these come out with dragons on the stamp and come from a casino in the city of…“China”.

Edit - someone reminded me it’s Mexicali. Which could be a cool theme.

Entrance to alley in la chinesca per Wikipedia, perfect for cut card or DB.

SWEET JESUS!

Is this it?

The one thread that's to serve as the barometer regarding the crucial health of the hobby overall?

A place where a player could go to get a technical, up-to-date forecast for the chip market?

....And yet ....as far as the eye can see....an infinite table of baiting, thumb-sucking, begging, wretched simping, ego tugging, bed-wetting, petty gif-tards, and trolling.

Ladies and gentlemen, I have but two questions:

Have you ~no~ shame !?

And...seat open?
You forgot to add c*rcle j**king

Who would trade Action for a Nit? ;)
I will say it's difficult having you on my left. If you're on my right I can call all those hands pre. I think I was -$600 on that late night til 4am session.

If stamps, will be fine. The great equalizer, hard to have a bad looking stamped chip.

I know nothing design wise - maybe less than nothing. I wanted to build a diddy party all white set. Another time wanted a diff mold every denom.

That being said, it would be super wierd for me that spot progression, inlay/stamp, and vibe would all be key to cohesion, but not the colors of the chips.

Again, I don’t have a lick of design understanding, but there are chips that “go together” and those that “don’t”. Whether that’s dealing with color theory or utilizing contrasts and hues with intent, I think color matters.

In my breakdown of JD vs IG, it’s one of the key differences for me. JD has great solo chips, but the sets a mess.

I think it’d be a great discussion to have and see other artists/designers converse with you and each other on the topic, look at previous nagbs, share insights, see what’s concesus opinions and what’s not. But…people won’t be honest because it’s seen as negative or mean. There’s what’s said behind closed doors and then what’s posted.

I’m sure the set will be gorgeous. They’ll sell!

But no, personally I don’t see the intent to build a cohesive set, which personally just for me, is always the one sad face for nagbs.

Edit - to point out idk if there’s ever been chips released I dislike, btps are one of my favs and pretty disliked by top end design folk, and if all nagbs are built specifically for cohesion, the forum misses out on a ton of relabel/restamp options through the years. Literally impossible to please both sides.
I agree aesthetics matter and there are ways to objectively discuss design/color theory, etc. I'm all for that discussion in pursuit of the perfect NAGB chip set!

I will say chip design is a little like architecture in that it's not just pure art, but also needs to be functional.

Yep, think a great discussion to have for sure once folks see the whole set with spots (and ideally actual photos vs my early mockups - ha). But yeah, will be interesting to see if opinions change too from now to then.

You left early
Maybe it was later than that...I was there til it broke and acezag had to catch his flight out. I was the last one out and locked the garage door behind me.

The best part was getting literally every single one of your Faro Dunes chips in play. Insane table!

@Hornet confirmed it was 6am - most likely verified by a mailbox protecting neighbor :wtf:

FD Set Total Bank $4250 and I think a barrel of $25's and a handful of fracs & ones were not in play.

Last thing I'll say, fun fact that folks might enjoy (or scare them.. lol).. looking back at timelines of this set:

Monday AM: Nothing, just a note on a potential Mexicali theme
Wed PM: Art complete for all denoms, chip spots & colors selected

Look forward to sharing more.. but for sure was a fun process w/ Jim. I hope you all hate them so more for me.
