I'm off on another chipping project.

I recently secured a bunch of THC solids here for what was an untitled .10/.50/2/10/50 set in the vein of the classic old Australian casinos like the Alice Springs in the Northern Territory and the Wrest Point in Tasmania.

I decided on Mustard, Blurple, Forest Green, Orange and Black solids in leiu of trying to find spotted chips. Couldn't find Forest so Dark Green was the substitute there.

As they weren't going to be hot stamped I wanted to design a label that had a very Australian feel. My wife suggested "Terra Australis" as a name. Way back when the land down under was undiscovered by the white man, it was known as Terra Australis which is latin for "Southern Land". So I figured an old school map with rustic text was befitting.

This is how they'd look on the Paulsons.

Now, I'd like your feedback on the design. Does it work? Too plain or too busy? Rethink it and go in another direction?

I'm also now second guessing the solids route and thinking maybe this could perhaps be a CPC custom job. Maybe later...

Thanks all,

I feel like the inlay trusts in the letters to do the talking but the letters are shy. Maybe it is just me.

It is a very nice concept!

Solid chip colors look nice.

CPC colors, do you have a color sample set?

Shy as in need to be darker, larger or both?

I do like the solids and I think they work for what is essentially an old school set. And yep, I have a CPC sample set. Just between you, me and the entire forum (  ), I'm probably one of the few around here that don't find the CPC chips that appealing both in colour and finish.

I would try outline them or darker. To test at least.

If you don’t like CPC then don’t go that route to please the forum ☺️ I asked if you had a color sample set as some of colors you use. Just to know if you had seen them in real life.

I think I like this better. Closer to the original intent of replicating a hot stamp. Faux foil on a colour matched inlay background.

Cool!
Why not directly hot stamped?

I like the .10/.50/2/10/50 breakdown.

The chips I bought are all already hot stamped solids apart from the mustard roulettes.

The plan is to mill them all and over label the mustards as, from what I’ve read on Gear’s website, they don’t mill well.
