Have we finally reached market saturation?? (9 Viewers)

I too prefer slightly worn chips to brand spanking new since I buy with the intent of getting them into play, but listings should still be accurate on the chip condition. Played with a few times shouldn't be called mint or even near mint I think. Everyone seems to have varying expectations or views into mint, near mint, etc so let the pictures speak for the condition of the chips and if you have used them simply say you did and how often you did.

This is especially true when you buy the chips that have exchanged hands a few times and you don't know the history of the chips. Words like never played by me only give a partial historic reference.

I love virgins.....virgin chips. The sharper The edge, and the more difficult they are to shuffle, the more I like them.

Someone get photos of @BELGRADE 's cash set
Who's are those? Is there really someone here that only owns 1 set of chips?

I sold the set to @TheB00T...

@TheB00T Do you still have the set?

What did I miss
A couple of leaded hotstamp chips were bought in a matter of a couple of hours while good sets and chips are still sitting in the classifieds for weeks on end.

The market for the "lower" to " middle" end chips got torpedoed by Tinas. Great value to be had there still.

The top shelf stuff (lead, TRK, WSOP, etc) still commands a premium and will be sold quickly.

Just for fun, someone link the best 5 deals to be had. Can’t wait.

1. I couldn't sell my BCC MGK molded hotstamp set despite three attempts last year. I offered them to a Texas local for below my purchase price and no dice.

2. @horseshoez has an ad for two ready made mixed cash sets, both THC that have been sitting for over two months

3. There's an ES NAGB cash set in a playable breakdown for just over $5/chip when the same ad 3 or 4 years ago wouldn't have lasted an hour sitting since September.

4. Jack Cincy THC limit set for just over $1/chip has been sitting almost a week

5. BCC high roller tourney sets in playable breakdowns sitting for over a week at just ovet $3/chip that haven't been sold publicly in years.

That's just what's been bumped since yesterday.

I love mid tier. Bcc tmolds and Mardi Gras, rhc IG and Aransas? Killer, love em all.

Can’t wait to see the great mid tier value deals sitting, got my PayPal ready!
The best mid tier offerings that come and go lately have been HSI imho. Been a few sales of those lately and prices have been great.

No doubt. Solid head nod to when Tcr brought good stuff. HSI are winners in my book.

I just heard there’s great value in sitting mid tier chips/sets, but I think most of those were somewhat aptly priced and sold.

It seems pretty rare that a mixed set sells as a whole. I’d guess they’re split over 75% of the time.

But my default bottom line is that if stuff isn’t selling, it’s priced incorrectly. Sometimes you have to take a loss, if you want to sell when the market is saturated.

Low demand does not necessarily translate to high supply/saturated market.

Meh. I was definitely trying to be a little funny when I snuck that in at the end, but isn’t it all kind of related?
I think we’re seeing a whole lot of sellers who bought at inflated prices, and who don’t want to take a loss, combined with buyers not having as much disposable income. But isn’t that kinda the same thing as there being more supply than demand?

Yes, but no. So I’ll excuse myself without answering lol

I probably got a C’s in college econ classes so I’m no scholar but I still firmly believe the “supply” of clay poker chips is not that high.

Average days to sell would be the first analytical measure I wish we could track. Too many PCFers got use to the Covid boom of 1.5 hours to sell is healthy when in fact it’s probably normal for 10-21 days or so for a product to sit before it sells. Even longer…
