Broken Arrow Professional & Signature Series (2 Viewers)

I wasn't a fan of the first run of the poker-sized cards, specifically the font; the '5' was particularly hard to read. I know there have been revisions since that first run and I'm glad I ordered some of these new bridge cards.

These bridge cards have a great back color and design teal / purple, the card stock is in the goldilocks zone for me, I have a new felt and they spread so good, they also have a good snap. I like the font especially on the Q and the changes to the 5.

Cons for me are the pip box color ; the eggshell is better than most yellows, but I like a white box. OOC here I come :wtf:

The card box they come in feels so premium. I really like it. Good color (teal), and it's got an old-school appeal with a satin-like finish.

It's hard to tell from pictures since different phones and cameras handle colors differently, but compared to the previous Pro series cards, these look like they're on a bit brighter white card stock and the red looks brighter than the security red on previous Pros. Is that accurate? Or is this basically the same card stock and printing as those?

As an aside, I really like the back design on these!
  • Cardstock is the same white as the bridge red/black pro series, but is lighter than the textured stock on the blue/gold poker-sized pros.. think just a material difference there.
  • Red fonts did come out slightly brighter/lighter as well, but assume just run-to-run variation for this batch.

I’m fortunate to live in the same town as @Cratty and he dropped of a couple setups of the pro series bridge cards. We used them for 8 hours last night and everyone loved them. I have played quite a bit with the blue/gold poker sized broken arrow cards and I really liked those, but these are even better. I think they are slightly less stiff and they shuffle great and are easy for my 58 year old eyes to read. I can’t imagine better cards for the price!

Agree. Easy to read (but we were on a round, not an oval). I think the biggest selling point of cards is not noticing them. These were perfect without being noticeable. They gathered and shuffled well. I really liked them.

Just curious why you retire them after only 1 use and where do you keep them after retiring?
I would assume its cause they play big money games where the price of the cards is the last thing on their mind and that way none of the cards can get beat up to where someone could notice a blemish and know what card it is while playing

Fresh/new cards are as big of a (security) tool in a poker game as chips, table, etc... Hardly a costly investment for a new setup per session at $9.00 a night. Takes all/most chances of marked/nicked/bent cards out the equation when using new setups (sometimes a second setup) every game. Granted the cards are usable for multiple games but for the price, why take chances. Just bust out a fresh setup.

Give the used ones away as gifts or for use in games where money changing hands is not such a big thing. Donate them to assisted living homes etc...

Now if you are paying $30/$50+/setup for your cards (.....) you may be wanting to use them over & over.

Recieved a couple air-shipped sample decks. Very excited for these to come! Adding some photos to start this off.

I don't have the best sense of playing card quality, but really like the feel as always.

Would love to have others reviews as they are received and played. @cpac54 @Northern Paladin

Thanks @justincarothers !!

Okay, these colors look really nice in person and there is a nice texture on the circleback side. Not quite as much as the blue/yellow poker sized setups, but close. These are a homerun and I can't wait for more circleback colors! Or any nice classic styled design in green/brown/maroon, etc.

Anyone know the OEM who produces/prints the BA Pro cards?

Yeah, didn't notice the texture until I saw your comment and had to go back to check. For sure a little bit there vs the teal box run, really like that!

Those look just awesome!!!

Tried out the latest red/blue circlebacks, definitely my favorite of all the BA cards to date. They seem a little more flexible and smoother to shuffle. They definitely have a slight texture on the back compared to the purple/teal but not as much texture as the poker-size blue/gold. Goldilocks!

If they could stick to this stock in the future, it would be amazing. Only thing on my wishlist is a "junior" jumbo index.

I got mine a couple weeks ago. Circlebacks. I think these are now likely at the top of my "best buy" list. For the price there is nothing comparable that I've yet touched.

As others have mentioned, the slightly textured back but smooth faces are really great. I think maybe my first deck like this and I'm a big fan. Just enough friction without feeling grainy or rough.

They shuffle incredibly well and, while I don't have mounds of different brands I've tried, they are some of the most flexible cards I've used. Not stiff. They gather very easily too, unlike some other brands where the edges hang-up on each other.

My complaints are really just aesthetic and my own preferences. I prefer standard index and every time I try jumbo I'm reminded again "I like standard better". The artwork and fonts are pretty nice, better than standard artwork on most company's cards, but I am a huge sucker for the art on like Desjgn and Faded spade.

These have to be right up there near the top for me overall though. And absolutely 100% would be my recommendation to anyone not big into cards but looking for a nice setup for not a lot of money. Awesome aweome job.

You know... I used to love standard index more, and I still really, really like them. Unfortunately, as my poker group gets older, the more jumbo index is a necessity for those at the ends of the oval.

I just ordered some from Justin and am looking forward to introducing them into our rotation. Won't wait for the Signatures as I am convinced poker sized cards will be more durable than bridge.

Ordered some of the original decks and they were stiff but durable. Great to play with but not if I am dealing. Am hoping for an improvement in texture.

It's gonna take me quite a while to get them as they are to ship along with a custom set and I live outside the US. That means I will have time to thoroughly evaluate my Copag Elites which I am currently using.

As for the Copags. these 2 decks have gone for well over 24 hours of use over 4 poker nights with minimal streaking or creasing. As such they are my current value-for-money faves, given my disappointment with my Desjgns.

Here's hoping the BA Pros can take over the throne.

Got the latest/Tangiers into play last night. Cards feel slightly lighter/flexible than previous versions, which IMO is good. Really love these. Also have a slight back texture similar to a couple runs which I love. My players loved them.

Only real existing tradeoff on these is likely going to be long-term ink wear (my table doesn’t have dirt/felt pickup issues). But for the price of the setup, least of my concerns.

But best yet IMO.

Also decided to post a comparison of the latest “Professional” vs “OG” for reference for those that don’t know the main art differences. Big texture/feel difference though.

Finally, posting a V1 professional series comparison of back texture/color. Bright white on original compass back professionals vs cream and slightly textured now. Much better.

Are these new tangiers security ink or just a darker red? They look great!
