The Yankees have the third highest payroll in baseball. Their turn will come, sooner than later. Probably anyway.

Loser stench? That comes from Miami, The Athletics and/or Tampa Bay whose combined payroll is less than the Yankees.

Sadly, the Mets have the highest payroll in baseball. Somehow they give off a bit of a stench too. At least the Mets fan in New York can always watch the Yankees once their season is over.

Goes to show you can't buy your way to success in baseball, money just buys you a chance at the top prize. But if you don't spend the big bucks, your team is almost certain to be in the loser's lounge sooner than later. -=- DrStrange

Actually I think they are tied with the Dodgers for 14 WS losses with 8 of those loses to the Yankees.
