Gulp, Next One?

I'm just kidding. To be honest, there's going to be nobody more adept at navigating this kind of endeavor in the future.

This was done and paid for a LONG time ago yes.

The latest update I got was the confusion between the different mirage files which I thought was clear and then the confusion between the Silver Tongue Devil versions and Barrel House. Both of which had 3-4 variations, I had them clearly marked but still questions about what is what.

So as I mentioned for the next one which, at this rate, I’ve figured we are not doing this many free designs. I’m doing a select let’s say 10 designs, you get what you get and we go from there.

For this, I’m trying to push these into production as quickly as possible. I didn’t think referencing an excel sheet with an exact 1:1 ratio of names pretty much would be so hard. Then, not getting a response of anything from after I approved the artwork and then getting another email saying I didn’t have an order was wild.

I personally don’t see any reason why the files that have already been approved can’t be done already and the ones they have questions can’t be done last but I guess that’s how they work.
If this was the same vendor as the one that was used in a previous large group buy, I remember them as being extremely strict as to the way the art files were supposed to be produced and submitted.

Yeah, I think it was brought up a while ago I know I mentioned it why hadn’t they just started production on the designs that were good to go? Like batch printing while getting adjustments from you on ones that had issues? Would help with you shipping out too..

Agree with some mentions above do you want to loop anyone in on the emails and give someone a phone number to help jump in with getting things going? May be late in the game for that but this is pretty wild that they don’t have anything in production yet when we are coming up on a year and they just said they couldn’t find your order in the system…

Has anyone used them before for cut cards before and had issues?

I’m just glad I didn’t tell my poker club about the cut card hand rankings and club rules I ordered back then … still excited to get em and appreciate all your time and effort with it Oscar!

I just don’t think we can pin so much on the vendor. I’ve gotten custom cards through this vendor before in another group buy that took 1/4 the time. The last month or so may be the vendor, but other delays up to this point aren’t. I don’t know you personally Oscar, and a lot of people have vouched for you, but this has been handled poorly. You’re not at fault for having difficult circumstances in life, but I think a responsible thing to do would have been to ask for help or pass this off a long time ago. I’m still holding out for my cards right now, but if we hit the end of next week without a true start to production I’m going to go ahead and ask for my refund as well.

I commend Oscar for not calling out all the buyers who fucked up their own orders, didn't have proper files or relied on him to do the designs for them which also helped to slow down this order.

Anyone who wants to bail out of this group buy, I will purchase your cut card order from you. No need to threaten Oscar. Send me a PM and we can work out all the details.

Have you ASKED THEM TO START PRODUCTION ON THE ONES THAT ARE READY? This seems like a no-brainer on an order that was submitted this long ago and has been paid for. If they refuse, we should never use them again!

@Okku
There was a problem with my order and the four files used to produce them? Why am I only hearing about this now? I've ordered multiple cut cards in the past with many variations each time, and never a problem. I'm sorry that mine caused some issue with their production team, but I would of liked to learn of this detail back when it was an issue..

I never said there were problems with your files.

I was trying to say that the printers were having trouble figuring out what files for instance in your 4 designs were (A, B, C and D).

The same goes for @Irish who had ordered 4 different cut cards. I had to explain the same thing because for some reason in their proofs and even after that, there was nothing assigned for let's say Silver Tongue Devil A card.

Never said there was something wrong with the way you set your files up. You actually did them correctly.

It seems odd to me that this company has done so many runs for our community and then was seemingly so unprepared for this one. I get there was a ton of designs. But their inability to adjust, compile and communicate seems to have gone to shit. Did they get new management or hire a new design team? Obviously questions you probably couldn't answer, but things on their end certainly seem off from previous orders.

Is there a main takeaway of what could have made this process easier just for future reference? Like a lessons learned guide. For example, I know you mentioned that they messed up previously approved designs and then couldn’t seemingly reference a 1:1 Excel spreadsheet.

Is there anything that could make it more streamlined by breaking into batches, reformatting how instructions and designs and references are delivered to them? Using more standardized templates? I get that a couple hundred different designs is a lot but at the same time it really shouldn’t be if they’re a legit business dealing with thousands of customers. I don’t know everything going on behind the scenes but it appears that 90% of the issues are due to details getting lost in translation between A and B. I’m sure some of the designs may have needed re-touching and I agree that shouldn’t have been on you to fix for everyone but that doesn’t seem to be the main issue here. It doesn’t seem like 10 months worth of issues no matter how I look at it objectively and it doesn’t seem like even now we are in production?

I personally have used this company in the past for multiple orders of one design or maybe two, but never had an issue. I'm not sure what's going on. I'm trying my best to communicate with them accurately and effectively.

I thought by making the template for everyone to use would've fixed that issue, it didn't.

could make it more streamlined by breaking into batches
Possibly, and this is why for future buys I'm only sticking to a smaller number of designs.

Thanks for the update Oscar. I guess my only question now is:

what’s your specific plan for getting this group buy across the finish line and what is a realistic and honest timeline?

Based on this assessment I’ll either stay in or give up.

Hopefully we get into production this coming week.

Once I receive the package itself I'll have everything shipped within that first week. So, I'm expecting production to maybe take about 2 weeks. I'm not entirely sure, it could be quicker.

I did ask about having the ones that are already approved be made before the others and the question sort of went over their head because I didn't get a response. That's all I can say at the moment.

I’m surprised these guys are still in business. What a cluster, lots of excuses but no customer service.

I would maybe schedule a go to meeting webinar and go over everything with him, however with a new job and newborn baby, I totally get it.

Ok thanks. I’m not too concerned about the timing of reshipping part because I know that’s going to be a huge task for you, I’m more concerned about them even going into production from the manufacturer. What gives you confidence that we’ll likely hit production this upcoming week as opposed to any other point during the process? Just curious. Thanks.

I was only given a small list of "what are these" which makes me think that everything else seemed to be easy enough to understand.

The ones that had multiple different designs or different versions they needed clarification. Everything else seemed straight forward.

Ok thanks. Fingers crossed then!

If these ever get done I’d bet I won’t be the only one surprised. I know you’re trying hard Oscar, but I truly think you are being strung along. This thread makes me sad, and I’m not even out any money. Sorry all.

@Okku I know people have suggested this before and you seem to completely ignore the advice/feedback, but you need to get on the phone and break the bottlenecks in this thing.

People are generally reasonable and want to take care of the customer. Call them. Stop with the vague email process that hasn't gotten this finished yet.

Okay I'll do it on Monday

I have absolutely nothing constructive to add to this group buy thread, but neither has anyone else in roughly 20+ pages now. That said, it's a rather dull Saturday here in Ohio and my Buckeyes aren't playing today so I'm kinda bored and feeling totally left out of the fun conversation that you all seem to be having. I have therefore decided to jump on the bandwagon of people getting their panties all in a ruffle over freaking poker cut cards of all things. I think Hamlet's Ophelia spoke for all of us in Act 3, Scene 1 when she said: "Oh, woe is me! T’ have seen the cut card designs I have seen, but not be able to hold them in mine hands! For shame! For shame!" Or at least that's how I remember her quote. LOL

For real though, thank you Okku. Not only for putting together this group buy in the first place, but also for putting up with the 4,726 people who have seemingly lost their minds (and possibly lost their marriages) over some plastic cards that cost $1.50 each. You've been a trooper. And, at least for me, whenever the cards eventually do show up it'll be like a cool surprise. It'll be kinda like when you receive notification that you're part of some random class action lawsuit, but then you totally forget about that shit for like 2+ years, but then all of the sudden some money just magically shows up in your bank account and you're all like "Oh hell yeah I forgot all about that shit!" LOL! Can y'all tell that I'm bored right now? Man do I wish OSU was playing today... :ROFLMAO:

Well, after all these endless months, I really don't think that this will happen within this short period of est. time. The order is so huge, that the company probably playing for time right now until they will produce the cards. And I honestly don't think that the production of such a massive order will be done within just 2 weeks. I pressing my thumbs that the phone call will be successful and that the production starts soon. But I have my doubts since this kind of back and forth has started months ago. But let's see how this will end....

I wouldn't be surprised if the amount of cards that have been ordered is ~10k ... Over 160 designs, some orders for hundred cards per design, some for only a few one... If the average order of cards/design is ~50 then we are >8k already ...

For fun and a bit of a mood lighten... put all of the pages in this thread into chatgpt and asked for a song (no context), and then uploaded those lyrics into Suno (AI music) and here's the result. ha

Keep up the good work though, Oscar.
