What’s the difference between this and your FB finds and reselling to the community? Dude literally stated he sold it for "way below market value". Now I get ridiculed for selling at market value when I'm getting a new set?? LOL

Here's the breakdown, bro dumped chips for a higher price to me after he took ones out of it for himself. Claims he "sold for way below market value to help a new chipper". I Then I go to list the chips at market value 5 months later and he's upset. It's not like I bought the chips to sell them at profit, I literally played with them for months. I am wanting to upgrade now, how am I the bad guy or in the wrong? If someone mad an offer on the chips I would likely negotiate btw.
He was helping you out he thought. He thought he was doing a good deed for a new chipper.
It appears now that you are an opportunist. Nothing wrong with that, people just know now not to cut you any deals, either buying or selling. Lots of other people like you here already.
One guy here knows that anything he buys from me is going to be 5x the listing price. He profited unmercilessly from members when he absolutely did not have too. Thats fine too, he just knows that I am going to profit unmercifully off of him if he ever wants anything I have.

Sounds like normal business to me man lol. This was my first set so I was a new chipper, what kind of high horse shit is this to say "oh bro you gotta pay it forward otherwise I'm going to fuck you on deals in the future". What kind of fucked up "community" crap is that lmao. I'm seeking 1.5x on the chips I got (which is about market value btw) to buy a much more expensive set from someone else; Acting like I'm making 5x or something...

Wow. Just did a search on your posts. I don’t know why anyone would ever take on the headache of dealing with you. Just another complainer having issues with everything and everyone. You should consider that maybe you are the problem?

It doesn’t matter. People sort themselves and life takes care of everybody eventually. I know where I stand on selling you stuff now.

You do you and don’t worry about what everyone else thinks. They are going to think it no matter how you justify it to yourself.

Yeah alright man lol. Supply and demand always prevails, things are worth what people make them. Again these are just clay poker chips am I right?

Cool. I’m making my stuff worth a lot in the future.

I’m a newer member than you, @Kage, but if I may, in my short time here I’ve purchased over 2,500 chips across many transactions, and the reality is this:

If I bought this set from you and later found out you’d acquired it for substantially less just a short time ago, and had marked it up by 50 %+ within a few months, I’d probably feel like I’d been taken advantage of. I’d start thinking this community is full of sharks and I wouldn’t want to be part of it.

This forum seems to thrive, and only seems to exist, BECAUSE most people here are good, fair, and transparent with each other. That’s the difference between PCF and eBay — if that trust breaks down, and we just rely on market dynamics of supply and demand, prices go up and the whole sense of community disappears.

Good explanation and I understand. Though let's say I acquired this set for free even or even inherited it from a relative for $0. Does that make it worth any less? Should I just also give them away for free since I got it for free? Is it price gouging to sell something for exactly market price? These are not marked up from market price. That is the argument I'm making here. There is no gouging, the money is going right back into the community for chips I am buying from someone else on here btw.

Yeah. Wtf are you doing. This isn't the Ekricket I've known.....

If you brought chips from outside the community to inside the community no one would really care. But you bought community chips and are reselling back to the same community marked up. That’s what’s frowned upon. But maybe it’s those lines you couldn’t read between.

Just do you. The more you post the weaker your credibility in this community is.

I say close the thread and repost a new forsale thread. I won’t post

That’s a good point. I guess I’d refine my thoughts, from admittedly limited experience, to say that for a lot of sellers here, the factors that seem to go into pricing are about more than just supply and demand. There’s a social, psychological, and even emotional component to it. That’s why we often see giveaways, “new member” pricing, and other community-minded perks that, on the surface, might look like a loss for the seller — but in reality, they’re a kind of investment in the greater good of the community.

I’ll also offer a quote that feels relevant here: “A rising tide raises all boats.” The kindness that was extended to me early on is exactly what encouraged me to spend thousands here, and I fully intend to pass that spirit on, especially to newer members. Hopefully, those new buyers inject new energy and capital, helping this hobby continue to thrive. Over time, maybe the more established members lose less money or even make a few dollars, while new members still get to enjoy the hobby at a market-aware but reasonable price.

In your example of finding chips at a $0 cost, I’d say you could certainly price them at market and keep that to yourself — or, if you wanted to grow the community, you might consider offering some kind of new-member discount or fun giveaway in the spirit of sharing your good fortune. I suppose it just depends on what matters to you, and over what time horizon you measure value.

My fevis listing had me find this. You got these for less than $200 and then you posted them for $300, so over a 50% markup profit right? I do something similar and then it gets alllll this attention because I was a new chipper. Lol alright.

2020 vs 2025 pricing, not June 2025 vs October 2025 pricing.

Oh okay, so now it's a date problem. A second ago it was a pricing problem and a "community" problem. Though now we can all agree this is okay due to time lol whether that is a few years or a few months THAT'S what makes the difference? Point being is its the same in the end, the time frame would only be crazy if it legit was a few days or weeks even. I used this set for months and cleaned each chip by hand lol this was not a "quick flip" per say as implied.

guys it’s a lost cause. Let the chipper chip

All I'm saying is that I actually liked this set and got it to enjoy it, have moved on and want something else. lmao like come on man, what wouldn't of started all of this? Like at what price would of been acceptable to not get hate? Would it be the same price I got it for? Genuinely asking.

im still in shock you cleaned them ... Fuck... That's like... Incredible.

I didn't say you flipped. Nor that you did anything wrong. But your explanations have been hilarious.

By posting this I meant to show that yes, prices do go up eventually, but over the course of 5-7 years. Apologies if I wasn't clear. And I am guessing on the release date of the Empress chips by Jim, could be way earlier.
Wait till people find out about NAGBs.... Riot!!!!

I was actually interested in the set at first. But if I was you I might have even messaged @joeyshin to ask him what he thought was fair given the passage of time and the cleaning and the loss of the 1k chips. Not because I needed to but because I want to avoid.. this thread. If @joeyshin says he lost $75 of value by taking the 1k I might call it around 1300… that might feel okay as a buyer?

In full fairness to everyone involved, yes, from what I've gathered in the past 8 months on here, selling chips for the same price (or even at a loss as is usual in my case lol) is the norm. Unless the transaction was private, most public deals follow that general rule. For example, the 1280 roulette chips I posted cost me a total of $1728, listed for $1280 currently because I know solid RHC chips are not in demand and $1600 if bought by the rack.

bruh lmao you are obviously well versed on here you know cleaning them takes hours and hours. My point was that I got these to enjoy them lol that's what I was saying, I didn't even think I was going to want to upgrade.
