Details for the community? Is it a misunderstanding or something bigger?Pmed me don't worry. Guess I am out of luck
Buyer beware
Prime example to leave negative feedbackPaid for some rfid hardware and got told shipping returned to him. Claims he had some medical issues and told me dont worry. 6-7 weeks later and no refund, no tracking and no package.
Its funny when people get scammed on here?Sounds like @SoupHQ got Chili
If you want to take it that I'm goofing on you personally then I'm sorry. I'm glad you've let the group know so we can no longer buy or sell to him - at least I know I never will. Its funny when people get scammed on here?
His reply was pretty well thought out and reasonable. Lot of issues with shipping to the USA right now.Paid you on Aug 20. All I have gotten is excuses. Seems like a scam to me.![]()
No one said to let it go. Calm down. Log off the cpu. Mentally reset. I understand your frustration but looking at the users PCF history if it was a scam he most likely wouldn’t log back in. Give him a few business days to try and locate the item. Then begin another resolution if necessary. I’ve been scammed $2500 here on PCF so again I understand the frustration. So if he has a “good reason” then we should all just let it go?
Not sure why I have to make my case to you for you to believe that I am out $1200 and have nothing to show for it.
You could send the money back. Or more fair … 50% until the issue is resolved. He wasn't scammed, it was just a series of unfortunate events.
I sent the package—it came back. I sent it again—it came back again. I was able to send it a third time (without having to pay again), this time with adjusted data (there seem to be problems with shipping to the USA).
--> The tracking said it had been returned to me, but it hadn't. It's nowhere to be found. Not at the neighbors', not anywhere in the shed, or anywhere else. Initial contact with the US Postal Service was a bit frustrating.
Then I had breathing problems, pneumonia, and ultimately a diagnosis of pulmonary embolism. I was in the hospital for a while and can now take care of it again.
I'm sorry about twocannons—he sent me money and hasn't received anything yet. But I can't send him the money back because I didn't get the package back.
I'm now trying to solve the problem so that it's finally off the table.
I'm not a scammer and I don't intend to scam anyone.
Well in the true retail world environment, the seller is always 100% responsible. You’re the one profiting and should inherit the risk.well, shipping to EU works fine, the other direction is the problem right now.
And I would not take the risk as a seller to refund the buyer IF this package gets lost or damaged. Why should I pay for the damage made by the shipping company? I once helped out as the sender to make a reimbursment case with DHL and got some money back, which I refunded to the buyer in the US, but why should I reimburse the full payment, when DHL or whatever looses the package?

But it’s different with private sales. Once the seller has handed the package over to the courier, they’re usually no longer responsible for the successful delivery. That’s why I always let the buyer decide which shipping conditions they prefer, such as tracking and insurance.Well in the true retail world environment, the seller is always 100% responsible. Since this is more of a hobby site I believe the 5050 is more fair.
I’m good with whatever if it’s been disclosed. But if neither the buyer nor seller disclosed it, 50/50 seems fair. But it’s different with private sales. Honestly it sounds like the shipper made a bunch of mistakes and now doesn’t want to be held liable for it?I sent the package—it came back. I sent it again—it came back again. I was able to send it a third time (without having to pay again), this time with adjusted data
Woah woah woah. You want a warnake box??! I'm giving you a Safeway bag rolled up on itself and I yelled the address at it and yer gonna like it!Honestly it sounds like the shipper made a bunch of mistakes and now doesn’t want to be held liable for it?
It kinda sounds like the shipper was wonky to start with and now the buyer is expected to pay for the shippers inexperience and who knows if it was even right the third time. I think buyers have a right to expect shipping to be done in a timely and in a manner that is satisfactory to the method of shipping.
“I taped up a Warneke box and wrote some shipping info on it with a smeared sharpee. I’m no longer responsible for anything after I leave it on the corner for the mailman to pickup tomorrow”.
Just doesn’t cut it and it’s ridiculous to make the buyer responsible for poor shipping.
Well at least you tried I guess, it sounds like you get to keep my money for your token effort.Woah woah woah. You want a warnake box??! I'm giving you a Safeway bag rolled up on itself and I yelled the address at it and yer gonna like it!
