Any audiophiles? (1 Viewer)

Audiophile over here. Started collecting vinyl and building my system about 5 years ago. Still a student and should be making some big upgrades down the line, but love what I’ve got right now.

Absolutely, this is a constant battle. They're whole communities online dedicated to "audiophile" cables but in my opinion (and proven by science) as long as a cable is properly made, shielded, and is the correct gauge for the job it will sound identical to a "high-end" one. Not only will it sound identical but any measurable differences are completely negligible at frequencies humans can hear. The placebo effect and expectation bias is very real though.

The cable I have attached to my HD800s is the Moon Audio Black Dragon. It retails for nearly $700 (it came with the headphone I didn't purchase it) and after hundreds of hours of comparative testing, I cannot perceive a difference.
Agree. At the lengths we’re dealing with as long as the cable is properly constructed with materials fit for purpose, and shielded - a cable is a cable.

I’ve starting making my own with Mogami bulk - works perfectly! I’ve got some higher dollar cables from earlier in my journey and no discernible difference.
