Just checking in with an update dudes. The cards are being printed and packed, just waiting for confirmation that they are complete (probably late June/early July) and then will get them shipped to the UK and straight out to those who have ordered. Still on for July/August fulfilment at this time.

The Kickstarter is still running if anyone is interested, for those that missed early pre-orders and wanted to pick some up, this represents the best price for these sets before they go to retail.

Not too long to wait now; I have never done business with Kuo Kau before but have so far been impressed with their communications and attention to detail, so I am very much looking forward to seeing the final product!

Just a few photos that Kuo Kau sent through earlier today of the digital test proofs they made. The colours on the tests aren't exact, as the PMS colours used in the finished decks will be bolder and sharper, and the print alignment laser-perfect, but I still thought they looked pretty cool so I thought I'd post em!

These are just digital print proofs, where they test the artwork and dimensions etc. before going into mass offset printing. Uncut sheets are the actual playing cards before they get cut and packed (so after they have been printed properly on the offset machines) and they will be an entire deck on a single sheet.

Just had another correspondence from Victoria at Kuo Kau, we have just approved the rigid two-deck boxes with gold hot-stamp foil: looking very nice indeed! They feature a special thick red card in addition to the foiling, in an effort to create a truly premium & classy setup.

In other news, after reading back through the "Help me create a premium deck of poker cards" thread the other day, I took heed of @JMC9389 's advice and reached out to Matsui Europe who have their HQ just down the road from me, and I'm currently exploring Matsui chip options to go alongside these decks. Watch this space I guess!

Yeh I was kinda entertaining the idea of finding out how much a print run through matsui with Angel stock would be, just for future reference. I will find out, I do believe they have higher MOQs though. Matsui sales rep seems like a good dude so I'll see what he says.

Funny story... the matsui europe rep, who works at their euro HQ not far from me, lives even not further from me and stopped by my house on his way home from work to deliver my samples in person. Wow! What service. And what a small world we live in! Loving these chips so far...

Production complete! The final payment has been paid and these are being packed and shipped to us as I type. Due to how huge and heavy this consignment is, air freight was out of the question price-wise, so these are getting put on a boat. Realistically, this probably means we are looking at a September fulfilment, although if everything arrives back end of August we will just start fulfilling orders straight away. I'm very excited to get my hands on these and have every confidence that Kuo Kau have smashed them out of the park, they should make for a very nice poker setup. I have included a few photos below that were sent to me prior to the items being packed, the photo quality isn't great as I took them off a big document where they were fairly small, but you get the idea.

Thanks, appreciated! I am looking forward to getting these in hand. And yes the Matsuis are superb, I've got the samples at my desk messing with them all the time, very tactile and quality feel and sound. The only issue would be the cost, as they don't come cheap, but as soon as the playing cards are on deck I will look to sort a custom chip option to go along with them

Update guys: these have just landed at customs and I paid the release fee today (ouch!) I am hoping we have the items with us by Monday and will start fulfilling! Until we actually have everything with us I'm still waiting, but essentially they are 4hrs away and just need to be loaded onto a truck. I will post a proper update once the decks are in hand ! They just arrived! Literally half an hour ago. I am blown away by the quality. I have taken some very poor photos with my phone which don't do them justice, but the second photo is to show how smoothly and perfectly these have been cut and finished, and the third photo is to show the lovely matte texture on the cards which makes these feel superb! Very, very nice decks of playing cards, and I'm not just saying this, they look and feel noticeably better than the Piatniks I had originally ordered to sample.

I had initially hoped for these to be delivered last week or perhaps Monday, but that was literally out of my control, and I am just glad they are now in hand. Shipping of pre-orders will begin imminently! There are quite a few to get through and it is just me and my wife, so don't be alarmed if yours aren't sent out right away, we will work our way through until they are all done and then I will be back with an update once the last set has been fulfilled, hopefully it shouldn't take us too long. In the meantime, if anyone wants to order these from our store, you can do, and any orders will be sent out along with the pre-orders and Kickstarter rewards fulfilment, as we work our way through.
