Interest ChipCo Chips (7 Viewers)

Interesting. I suppose what I had in the past that I believed to be Chipcos may not have actually been. This is 10 years ago. I definitely had spinner issues. Thanks for chiming in with your experience.
I was told recently that some places that claimed to have ChipCo blanks was not really true. I know I had some spinners from a PGI order back in the day that was suppose to be on ChipCo blanks. One chip had a volcano in the middle.

I feel validated :) That sounds like my experience as well.

As far as I know, Chipcos were slightly concave on each side to prevent spinners.
Almost so, but it seems not quite so. ChipCo rather had a small outer ring around the edge.
Someone inside the company believed that this helped the chip age better and protect the graphics, and initially persuaded customers to include a white ring in the chip design.
You’ll find it in almost every ChipCo chip!

My Chipco set is 18 years old, has a white ring, at the time I ordered back then you had no choice the ring was there. They still look great but at home use I would expect nothing less. I paid $1 each back then, so if you get that price for real Chipco blanks,, you’re getting a good deal. To be honest BRPro satin blanks are damn close and you can print to the edge.

Can we all agree we don’t want “CHIPCO” written on the edges? :)
No I want it. See attached.

Im building mixed Manufacturer Advertisememt promo set.

Only the 3rd worst idea I've had today. 😁

I asked about these. They have not been available for many years due to a mineral in the formula that is no longer being mined.

That is what I thought. Original linen blanks would be like finding gold. Some folks had them for a while as an off-menu item but now they are all gone.

Interested in something new and something that uses full face and edges. Will there be any samples passed around?
I’m working on getting the price-per-chip and minimum order quantity details finalized with them. Right now, what they’re proposing is way off from their 2024 pricing and doesn’t reflect today’s market IMO, especially with the availability of lower-cost Chinese-made chips. Yes, these are made in the USA and are a premium product, but that only goes so far. A realistic price point based on 2024 prices should be around $105 per rack @ 10k minimum order quantity. They do charge a $199 fee for the first chip design and $25 for each additional (also based on 2024 pricing). For 6 denoms, that adds about 3 cents per chip at the 10K qty.

If I can get the cost and quantity details sorted out, I’ll request a rack of each of the three chip styles (Protech, Prestige, Signature) and put together half-barrel sample sets, even if I have to cover the cost myself.

I’d definitely be willing to pay for a half barrel to help offset your cost, Tommy.
