It’s been impossible to golf this summer. Too hot, way too hot, or incredibly hot….. or rain
 
Applying for apartments. Talk to one guy, David, for a while, go to see some units. Seems real nice, gives us a good price quote and says he wants to work with us. Even mentions they're looking for dealers for their home game after I mentioned poker. Sweet, could work out! Top of our range but doable.

Weeks go by and I'm calling n emailing, I can't get him on the phone and no email reply. His coworker sitting at the desk next to him says David's just too busy and can't come to the phone but he could help me! But of course the monthly rate went up 35% from what they previously quoted. Just got played like a fiddle.

Having to sell chips to fund or recover from unexpected financial strains.

My dear wife was involved in an accident with my main car. Thank God she was not injured at all, nor was anyone else. Unfortunately, the car looks like a complete write-off, which is not surprising given its age and general value. But unfortunately it does mean that we have to pony up for a replacement vehicle (not new, because I know that cars are not investments, only liabilities), which will set us back low 5 figures, minus whatever the insurance company will offer us.

So, look out for a string of sale threads at reasonable prices over the next few days and maybe weeks, as I try to gather up a little liquid to offset that difference. There will be something for everyone: veterans, newbies, collectors, prospective millers, and the curious.

I have a local deal pending already, at the best price I could negotiate. I expect the insurance payout shortly, but my prediction is there will still be a difference of at least $10,000 (Canadian). I suppose my sale threads will indirectly mean I am trading chips for a car.
 
Coming into the office early Monday and the A/C hasn’t kicked on yet. It feels like 85 degrees in here, even with my desk fan pumping. It’s 70 outside…….

Had a corporate event driving supercars on a racetrack yesterday (https://www.thextremexperience.com/tracks/new-jersey-motorsports-park/)
Got through all of the training, got to the spot where we were about to put on our helmets and jump in the car, and a massive thunderstorm came and shut everything down.

Now they're talking about rescheduling it...for April.
