Want to use an automatic shuffler for a home game. Nothing as fancy as a built in like the shuffle tech. Any recommendations?

That’s the problem. There is horrible shit, shit and then some more shit. And then there are Shuffletech and deckmate.

Granted, there are some initiatives for something less pricey yet functional, if you use the search function or wait for someone less lazy than me to find it and post here. I haven’t seen anything really exciting so far though

I was pleasantly surprised by the cheap ish one I got from Amazon. Here's an example, though there's various similar items on Amazon:

It does a quick riffle shuffle then you lift the unit to reveal the shuffled cards. You can get three separate riffles done fairly quickly. I have no experience with the fancy ones and this is more than enough fo

I’m sure they work decent but anything you need to manually reload for each riffle isn’t gonna save you any time compared to doing it by hand. If people suck at shuffling, I’d rather have a poker shuffle training evening before I bought any of those.

They’d be useful for someone who physically can’t shuffle but there likely would be someone else present who can assist if so.

I bought one of these and they’re pretty quick. Can run through 3 times in under 30 seconds.

With a full ring cash game and 2 decks it’s probably not necessary. But I could see when it gets 3 handed or heads up in a tournament it could really help (especially if there’s a volunteer to run the shuffler so the players don’t have to).

I dunno, bringing one of these to a tournament tomorrow. Will see.

Anyone look into this?

Interesting concept

Yep, I created the thread that was referenced above by @TheOffalo . Biggest problem I had with it is that it's made (and sized) to accommodate poker size cards only. I never got good results with bridge size cards, so I had to return it. I still like the compact design, so hopefully the manufacturer can tweak it and re-list it. Because I'll buy one if they can make it work for both sizes.

So does everyone agree the Shuffletech st1000 works great? but it's just too pricey? So everyone , myself included looking for a cheaper but not too cheap shuffle machine? just asking

I feel like a mid-market shuffle machine could do really well. Something than the single-riffle/Amazon level but not shuffletech tier. Something that can ensure a good-enough level of randomness for low and mistakes home games without all the bells and whistles.

I bought one of these as well and was happy enough with it that I bought a second one. It actually shuffles pretty quick and keeps unskilled players from bending my cards.

I bought one of these for my buddy and me when we play cribbage. He is getting unable to shuffle so it works really well for him so we use it. I don't think it would work well for poker games with player that can shuffle, it only does one riffle then you have to regather the deck and split the card and run it through at least 2 more time to get a decent enough shuffle. Not that it doesn't work it would just be too slow for poker games (unless you had a dedicated shuffle person that didn't need to move it around the table). And having to lift the machine to retrieve the riffled deck is not ideal either

It's probably the best of the cheap shufflers I've tried though, handles Bridge cards without issues. Not mad that I bought it.

I was going to try the Lotus shuffler as well until @Himewad found the problems with Bridge cards. Still hoping the creator makes the modifications.

All in all most of the cheap shuffler are cheap and just do a lot just damage to cards while trying to shuffle. Most aren't worth it.

Just haven't justified dropping for a Deckmate of Shuffletech, but games I've played at the use them all like em'

I feel like deckmates break down all the time and thus are better suited to casinos where technicians come in and repair/tune up the shufflers.
